I think he meant he didn't do anything criminal that will affect his draft stock.

I think that Gurley was/is being extorted

An autograph dealer tried to tattle on Todd Gurley. Heres the email - SBNation.com

I don't doubt that Gurley was making money from signing autographs. By why would the person selling these items on ebay, and presumably making a lot of money, want to turn in Gurley and get him suspended?

I have a feeling that Gurley had been signing items and taking money for a while, but now the National spotlight is on him this season for the Heisman, so he may have backed off from doing that this season, from fear of getting caught. Whoever was making the cash selling these items, got ****ed, threatened to rat on him if he didn't continue, and Gurley didnt.

Bam, all over the news.

That's the ONLY reason someone rats out their cash cow, when the cow stops producing milk.

Criminal or even immoral. He's just the latest guy to forget that the billion dollar business of college football is only for the universities and TV networks. It's definitely his own fault for breaking the rule...but it's the shittiest rule in the history of rules.

He would have missed less time if he went into a grocery store and stole something. Which is against the real law.

I know for a fact LSU has an orientation course for every player who comes on campus and that includes the scrubs about how they can and will be approched by boosters of LSU and other universities who may or may not ID themself just so they can lose their eligibility. It's not that hard. You're getting an education that many people are going into debt of $100k to get plus the bonus of getting the huge payout at the end. They don't care however or think it won't happen to them or think they are smarter than the person who approaches them. We're talking business owners who have made millions and the 21 year old player out of the ghetto is going to outsmart them. It happens.

What he should have done is talked to an assistant coach who could have got him touch with the right booster who could have funneled the cash 14 different ways to a business to put him on the payroll in the off season or whatever. Or just have made the phone call to make it happen. I could call and have a guy hired at many places in a heartbeat if needed and that includes some very large companies where nobody would ask questions. Amatuers. It's not like the part time job needed to pay $200k or something.

The governor of my state used to call Exxon and get a guys dad a job from a different part of the state to move to Baton Rouge for the job just so he could play high school football for Baton Rouge high. Happens a LOT.

When I lived in TX my landlord was a high up with TXDoT and he always had a few guys who played college ball riding around in his truck all summer doing jack shit and he talked about how the call came every year about who he was hiring lol.

They all know, they just don't give a fuck. They think it's "unfair" and it is, but life isn't fair and you have to follow the rules or you pay the consequences. Stupid fucking kids do dumb shit, news at 11.

Wait, I thought Strong was a strict disciplinarian?! Texas is retarded, and should be ahead by at least 2 TD's

Georgia seemed to look just fine without Gurley today. Not sure what the hell happened to Mizzou as I was expecting better play from them. Missouri's quarterback looked all befuddled against Georgia's all of a sudden stellar defense. Wish that defense had existed against South Carolina.

Got to watch the Dawgs pitch a shut out on Mizzou in their own little high school stadium. This becoming one of my favorite trips of the every-other-year. Go Dawgs!

Clemon's stadium sure got quiet quickly once their offense couldn't do shit against our Defense.

Watson is now out too with a hand injury. So that further hurts their offense against our D.

Go Cards!
