The media has been pushing for 2 teams from one conference in the playoffs since they were born 3 seasons ago. Hell, that first year, they practically were wanting the entire final four to be the top four teams from the SEC West. The problem with that is the committee is built to not allow that to happen. There are major representatives from all power 5 conferences. It would take a meltdown of epic proportions from two entire conferences, where the winners both have 2+ losses AND for Notre Dame to suck so bad that they can't justify a bloated rating. There is just no way that 2 from the Big Ten, SEC, or ACC are getting in, it is usually win your conference, plain and simple. However, this year there may be an outside shot, because the Big 12 has to depend on Baylor (who nobody wants in anyway) or West VA to go undefeated OR for Washington to run the table in the PAC 12. Not doggin any of those teams but there is a probable chance that all three of those teams could get spoiled.

I like this stat from an Auburn blog:

From January 1, 2006, at the Capital One Bowl against Wisconsin to the October 2, 2010, ULM game, Auburn lost 6 straight games against teams with maroon or red as their primary uniform color, when kickoff was before noon central.

We're like 4 - 5 since then.
