when you're writing dialogue for the angry, American Inventor hating white characters, do you just copy and paste verbatim from the Politics thread? Before one of you idiots pages me in here making a bad joke...I think this is a silly idea. It will probably make a lot of money.

Nope. We source that shit direct from the tap.when you're writing dialogue for the angry, Obama-son hating white characters, do you just copy and paste verbatim from the Politics thread?
It COULD. I mean, there are a ton of angles you might take with it. Blacks owning whites. Whites and blacks fleeing to the north via propaganda where they live in poverty and struggle to work jobs being outsourced to the south while blacks (and some whites) flee to the south and send money north to feed their starving families, the whites being persecuted as "race-traitors" by those in the north and mocked as "weak" by those in the south. Meanwhile no one cares about Mexicans at all...it depends on just how "World Changing" they want to make the world they create.I think it could work if they show blacks owning slaves and whites being slaves. A world where slavery became accepted and might be interesting the same way I enjoy Man in the High Castle with the Nazi's winning. If it's just a bunch of bad white people then I'll pass.

This place practically has racism-salmonella.

When I first heard about this show I thought it could be that and maybe they will go with of that. Who knows. Those are two very good dramatic writers who know how to engage an audience.
I think it will end up being North=Utopia and South=Dystopia.
I hope it is. I talked about this with a TV writer much more experienced than me (Emmy winning) and he said it could be genius if it just removes race out of the equation completely and shows everyone being both bad and good in all aspects. Boil the shit down to simple human nature. Greed and survival etc etc etc. From reading about it seems to be set during the "Third Civil War". So I can see the setting being pretty "grimdark" for both places.
Actually what you described sounds like a stupid over the top appeal to feels.I hope it is. We were speculating about the massive amount of hate that would be directed after the first episode opened showing a black "Southern" woman beating a white child "slave" and then cut to an ambiguously Indian (dots) Northman gleefully funding that exact beating through corporate policy in a boardroom filled with every possible race or gender.
Too bad no one in Hollywood has those kind of balls.
Well, I mean if you think being against slavery is "appeal to feels" then yeah...I guess it does sound like that. The point was, they COULD just come hard and offend everyone right out the gate because no matter what they do, SOMEONE is getting offended. Shit was only just announced and you have people getting offended on both sides. People screeching about "no black actors will be in this" and calling it "anti-white".Actually what you described sounds like a stupid over the top appeal to feels.
Still fucking stupid, when you can use a real world example of a modern conflict to convey an utter disregard for other's humanity.Well, I mean if you think being against slavery is "appeal to feels" then yeah...I guess it does sound like that. So either you go hard with picking who you are going to offend, or you try and get a bigger message across.
Dude...it's fucking Hollywood. Not the goddamn U.N.Still fucking stupid, when you can use a real world example of a modern conflict to convey an utter disregard for other's humanity.

What, Beasts of No Nation is amazing. Watched it a few timesDude...it's fucking Hollywood. Not the goddamn U.N.
World building an alt-history story is a LOT more fun and freeform than another indie documentary with lots of shots of child soldiers killing and being killed in Africa that you and I both know, you will never watch.
Yes, yes it is. Point is, just the announcement already has people all riled up (look at the thread title) and then the lings keg provided. So either you own that SJW shit HARD (they won't), or you go sideways with it.What, Beasts of No Nation is amazing. Watched it a few times
