It's inevitable dude. This thread will go around in theorycraft circlejerk until paid beta. And now all the weirdos come out of the crevices. This will be another awkward thread.
Soggy biscuit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaCirclejerk? I am sorry but are you guys gonna jerk off in a circle or something for this game? A pre-alpha ritual maybe.
HmmYesterday J. Todd Coleman also revealed a couple of key ideas for Crowfall, including a different take on how game servers work. In World of Warcraft and a lot of other MMOs, the playerbase is split across dozens of servers with X thousand capacity each. Each server-world is identical but the inhabitants aren't.
In Crowfall, however, the idea is still to have the playerbase spread across servers but for the worlds to be unique. "How unique? VERY unique," Coleman said. "In fact, the the maps are different from one world to the next. Mountains, forests, rivers, lakes. And these worlds are dynamic;they're made to change based on player actions."
That's some bradesq shit right there. I'll beleive when I see it.
but muh climate mechanicsThat's some bradesq shit right there. I'll beleive when I see it.
Nothing has been said yet.since i didnt see anyone else ask it, any hints on the type of combat? tab target with friendly fire like shadowbane? "action" combat like newer mmos? dare i hope ... fps?
To me it sort of hints that perhaps it will be more action-based. But maybe that's just wishful thinking/rampant speculation.WHAT'S THE POINT OF PLAYING?
I don't want to kill more rats, fill another experience point bar or collect another meaningless badge.
I want to play a GAME, against PLAYERS where my actions, my decisions and my SKILL will determine if I win or lose.
my vagina would be so sandyI can't wait till they announce instancing or a dungeon finder or something and the monkeys start throwing shit everywhere.
Shut the fuck up and go play a single-player game then. I can't decide if arenas or phasing was literally the worst fucking design decision in the history of videogames. The former was just completely terrible, and the second makes absolutely zero fucking coherent sense in any gameworld context. Makes Atari's E.T. look like a goddamn masterpiece.I don't care if i'm throwing myself onto the fire - I like some dungeon instancing and some phasing.
The best part of all of this is the total hate towards cash shops. What did all those people do when Pantheon offered loot and cosmetic items on the kickstarter you ask? They coudln't buy that shit up fast enough.I wish Dumar would launch an MMO only to watch it go F2P with a P2W cash shop then shut down after six months. Dood thinks it'd even be remotely feasible to make UO with "gameplay enhancements", rofl!
Dumar, the people you hate are the people that pay the bills. You're the egotistical chef who throws out every customer who orders a steak that isn't cooked rare then wonders why his restaurant is failing.
Actually..it was brought up by a lot of us how that shit could damage the game. Also..I think people tend to be more forgiving when the money is being used to actually make the game. The best part of all of this is the total hate towards cash shops.
