PC version + DSfix >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS3 version. The framerate alone on any half decent PC puts the PS3 version to absolute shame, never mind how vastly better the graphics are with the settings dialed up in DSfix. Having to download the mod and edit a couple things in a ini file is at most a minor convenience compared to the benefits it gives.I generally agree as part of the PC Master Race, but this wasn't the case for Dark Souls. The PC version at best was equal to the PS3, and I'd argue far worse due to needing fixes to even play at a similar level as the console version.
Wow. And here I was thinking that dual-wielding couldn't possibly get worse than it was in Dark Souls. I'm sure all the people with two thumbs on their right hand will love it though.-Dual-weilding will have an extra stance where you hold (Y or Triangle), and L2 will be a swing usingbothweapons.
Yeah, wasn't sure where he got the idea they were equal. Pretty much everyone agrees that playing on PC w/controller is vastly superior to the console.PC version + DSfix >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS3 version. Exactly. That just reinforces the status of the PC master race. They had an intern create a win compatible .exe, and that's all the optimization they did and it was still equal to what the original platform offered.
60fps vs 30fpsI generally agree as part of the PC Master Race, but this wasn't the case for Dark Souls. The PC version at best was equal to the PS3, and I'd argue far worse due to needing fixes to even play at a similar level as the console version.
Yes. Console games are almost always easier to get running than their PC counterparts. Since you brought the food metaphors in Dark souls on console is like a ham sandwich. Dark souls on PC is like a steak, awful without cooking it but better when cooked and seasoned!Yes, the game looked better and PC > console. However, I was not talking about the modded game, but the base game.
I had to jump through hoops to even PLAY the game on PC. Yes, the fixes made it work better, but it still had glitches and the idiot design decision to put it both on Steam and GFWL. It took me forever to get my 360 controller to work on this game due to the absolute shit port that it was, and I've never had an issue using my controller on any game yet. I had to disable my G15 and N52. It was a headache.
tldr: I put the disk into my PS3 and it played fine. I downloaded it to my PC and it didn't. Online wouldn't work with my 360 turned on due to the GWFL design. I had artifacts. Mods and fixes are great, but I was doing an apples to apples comparison.
Carpaccio is pretty amazing stuff, technically - and I've heard good things about tartar done right although not been bold enough to try with my stomach.Yes.
