Has anyone tried just limiting those framerates by graphic card settings?

Durability bug is bad enough, but losing invulnerability frames? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Limiting to 30 fps solves all problems... if you can deal with playing at 30 fps.
Can you do that in the game directly or do I need to figure out how to do that shit on my Graphics card settings?
heck, if you lower FPS to 20, can you get more invulnerability out of dodging?

PC Gaming master race! Dark Souls 2 difficult slide bar is only unlocked on PC, where the slidebar is your FPS setting. I'm going for a slvl0, use first dropped weapon, 200fps two rings run next.

GeDoSaTo does it (set presentInterval to 2 in the ini) and everyone playing DkS2 on PC should be using that anyway. Going back to 30 fps really fucking sucks though, the game plays so much better at 60 it's like night and day.

I haven't played the game since before they nerfed Santier's Spear into the ground, so I just ignored durability back then anyway and kept the game at 60 fps.

The i-frame thing is bullshit btw, you get double the number of i-frames when running the game at 60 fps. Enemies don't attack faster at 60 fps either, the only thing that it affects is weapon durability. If you're careful to not hit walls/corpses/etc. you can mitigate a lot of that too, from what I understand.

From what I can tell, you lose durability for every frame your weapon is in contact with a monster you can't currently damage. I think it's intended to slightly chip away at your durability if you attack a monster that's blocking, where the deflect animation knocks your weapon back and keeps it from being in contact for too many frames. But as noted it also applies to corpses and 'friendly' monsters because technically you can't damage them. 90% of the problem with the durability bug is when fighting groups of weak enemies with a wide sweeping weapon. Hitting walls doesn't seem to hurt nearly as much.

Just finished the DLC. Those drakeblood knights are kind of a bitch, ended up just putting on the -fall damage ring and skipping them each time.

I now set my FPS to 30 via 3D card settings and everything that involves dodging has become a fuckload easier simply because I now almost never get hit with a well timed dodge.

Do all small shields come with the increased parry timer or is it just the Buckler and something else?

It should be both of the small shields (buckler, targe) and then theres the parrying dagger which is the best iirc.

Is this first DLC a decent amount of content?
You can get through it real fast if your play is solid. I got invaded by players tons of times (yes!!!!) clearing through the new area. I also got invaded during one of the boss fights so it looks like there's another mirror knight type mechanic. What I think is the boss (without spoilers) was pretty strong. After you clear the new area it supposedly adds to the post Vendrick fight but I haven't gotten there yet on NG+... it has inspired me to do another play through. I can see with all 3 DLC that doing a full clear with a new char will be a very big experience. I'd wager with your 26$ or so spent (if you buy the pack and save yourself ~6$) you're getting enough content for your $. Again, best part of the new area is the number of invasions and players to summon in it while its hot, everyone coming back is focused into a single zone and its a serious hot bed for now.

Again, the number of i-frames scales linearly with fps, so the only explanation I can think of for what you're seeing is that you weren't actually at a stable 60 fps and the fps drops were what was causing you to roll badly, not the i-frames.

This is the first time I'm hearing about this, where is this info coming from? I-frame testing is a lot harder to pull off compared to durability breaking faster.

My rig provides a solid 60fps without any drops even in shitty areas.

If it's as you say, why isn't the same scaling mechanic applied to FPS? Why use two different measures of time?

The durability thing happens because durability loss is being applied for every frame of animation. That's why it only affects durability, and why it doesn't make sense that it would fuck up anything else besides that. People started rumors about it doing all sorts of other shit like speeding up enemy animations, messing with AI, reducing i-frames, etc. but none of it is true.

I stopped paying close attention to the game a couple months ago when From went full retard the first time, but I do remember there being a reddit post that talked about it, here -->Agility and iFrame correlation data. : DarkSouls2
