The future is going to have some fucked up people. The son of my niece is 14 got suspended from school because he was walkign down the hall holding the hands of a girl who was also 14. No tolerance is what the paper my sister showed me said. Shit has really really changed the almost 40 year sinve I was that age, really changed.

My daughter's HS had a ban on public displays of affection. Posters up everywhere. I have no idea if they enforced it. For all I know they just put the posters up for parent's nights. But when I saw them, I asked my wife if that applied to us. "Do I have to stop grabbing your ass?" She said, fuck it, let them expel us.

^ I literally had that happen 2x last Summer, asking women out, having them say yes, then seeming to suddenly remember to mention they have a boyfriend and telling me that right before the date. Which is so WTF.

Decade or so ago I had a woman go out with me and then tell me after the (sexy) date that she had a boyfriend, but also wanted to keep seeing me. Yeah that's a no from me dogg.

I'm old and have been for nearly all my life. Boring too. Just curious what guys that aren't 25 anymore consider a "good date". I rarely have date night but every so often. I'm not a big social person. Just wondering.

My last good date night were the two of us in the house with the double bay doors open at night on a night it was semi cool and we were looking out on the property and listening to Ray Charles for a long time. All lights off. Nowdays no idea.

Depends on the people and mood. Your example sounds great. I’d say as a general rule that as long as you’re engaged in the activity and enjoying each other’s company, it’s a good date.

I've been married for 23 years, together for 32 years.

We go out with other couples a lot, mostly to dance clubs, concerts, shooting range (yes my wife loves to shoot), go-karts, and other activities like that. We don't go out to eat, although going out to eat might be a good date activity since it gives you a lot forced face to face time to see how they interact.

Going out and having fun is important for a couple, regardless of what that looks like. If you and her like chilling in the house listening to Ray Charles, by all means, do that. As a couple you have to adapt to what both of you like to do and find things you both enjoy to do together.

Me and my wife try to do a date night every week. Sometimes it's dinner, sometimes it's playing PlayStation. The best dates are movies, dancing, and conventions. She's a bit of an extrovert. While I'm an introvert, I like when she is enjoying herself. Besides, the dates are more for her. There's no monotony to break or spark to rekindle in me. I want to fuck her morning noon and night.

I have a gun range a few minutes from the back door so that's not much of a date. We do shoot together. She likes shooting a shotgun more and she shoots a 20 guage. I have never even asked her to shoot my .300 win mag or 7mm stw rifle. I mean she's 4'-11 and weighs just a tad over 100 pounds. It might be a laugh for someone else but probably not for her and I cringe at some of the vids of overly large guns they give a kid or woman to shoot. She has shot my Savage striker bolt action pistol .300 win short mag and thought it was fun, which it is. One day I might let her shoot one of my larger rifles but not going to even think about letting her shoot my Freedom Arms .454 Casuul. I've shot literally all my life and it demands my full attention.


Eating out. We eat out when we travel to MS or LA. There is a college town 30 minutes from here where I went to college. It is not a place to eat out unless you want fast food. The main street in front of the college is wall to wall fast food for miles. They have dine in regular restaurant, Italian and it's owned by the family if a guy that owns a fab shop I do a lot of work for in Louisiana 300 miles away. I don't get it either.

It's also a semi dry county which was like being on Mars when I got here being from Louisiana. It's to curb minorities from drinking I think. You have to buy a $1 membership that is good at all restaurants in town. Blows my mind. But I don't drink. When I started college I was 24 and it blew my mind being from LSU land everyone waited till 21 to drink here and were deathly afraid of TABC, TX alcohol and beverage comission. At 18 in BR you could buy drive through daquiris that were very very heavy alcohol and quite large.

So we do a lot of shit at the house and on the property or next door on the national forest.

I don't have anything bigger than an 18" barrel AR, so no comically large guns.

I think dates could be anything you enjoy doing together, even if that is sitting at home playing video games together. I just really hate going out to eat and think it's a waste of time and money, so we try to do more active things.

I'll just add that the drive is part of the date. It's one reason going to the movies is a better date than watching a movie at home.
