I think Captain America 2 and Avengers 1 were the best two marvel comic based movies. I'd call it a tie between GotG and Deadpool over the #3 spot.

Maybe once I put some distance between just watching it, it will fall down a spot or two, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Capt America 2 and Iron Man 1 would currently be right behind this and Avengers 1. So, 1) GotG 2) Deadpool/Avengers 1 tie 3) Capt America 2 4) Iron Man 1 5) most of the other Marvel studios and new x-men ones are all interchangeable here, depending on my mood, then all the less stellar Fox ones after that (spider man, old xmen, wolverine, etc..).

Only if it's plural. Reynolds isn't plural, it just ends in an -s. So if his last name was Ryan Reynold, then Reynold's would be appropriate.

Just like if it was a guy named Chris. Would Chris' Deadpool or Chris's Deadpool sound right?

I really hope we get a lively grammatical debate going in the Deadpool thread.
This man is correct.

Just saw it tonight, great movie. BEST Stan Lee cameo of any Marvel movie yet, hands down. But, even in the post-movie euphoria that inflates my opinion of it, I don't think this was a 'better' movie then Guardians. I'd currently put it as #2 or 3, cause it's hard to compare it to normal Marvel based movies. It was going for something different then Avengers, for example, but I put them neck and neck for my 2nd favorite super hero movie to date. Definitely Fox's best Marvel movie so far, so let's hope they learn something from this before rebooting something like Fantastic Four again.
Wasn't even top 3 for me.

Spiderman 2 (movie was damn near perfect)
Avengers
Iron Man
GOTG
Winter Soldier
Deadpool

Everyone is going to be different, but I'd put GOTG and Deadpool above pretty much everything else.

I realize I may be in the minority here, but I thought Colossus was the weak point. He wasn't terrible, but for me, the weakest part of the movie. I really wish they were able to get Hugh Jackman to cameo as Wolverine. My money is on that happening in the sequel however...

Colossus was basically playing the part of Captain America here, the moral compass straight man. He was the weakest link by design. Angel Dust was probably the least well executed part of the movie, but she was a last minute budget rewrite and there to give the viewer some action at the end, so it really did not matter as much.

It is a matter of opinion, but I liked this equal to Guardians, which was my favorite comic related movie of the last decade or two (I found parts of Avengers 1 to be a bit forced in comparison) and I would go on to say that it is arguably the best comedy of the last decade or so, as well. The only other movie with mainstream appeal that I can compare it to would be something like Tropic Thunder, which also was both innovative and non-stop jokes. Even if you don't feel this to be the top of those categories of movie, the success (both critical and financial) this movie has had will change the face of movies for the next few years in the same way Fury Road has. I hope the suits learned the right lessons, but the cynic in me expects another "Post Die Hard" period where its just a solid decade of watered down knockoffs.

What happened to Angel anyways, I thought for sure she and Colossal were gonna fall in love, it woulda been a great scene for him to pop a boner when her tits come out

I don't remember colossus ever being that 'goody two shoes' in the comics. I thought he had started out working for criminals as a hired hand and such, and he has generally been in the grey area morally. I suppose he's 'post xavier' in this movie, where he has been converted over, so it's fine. But, I've always liked him as a character alot. Visually, always thought he looked pretty awesome. Was my favorite character to play on that old Xmen arcade game side scroller with 4-6 players. So, I was just glad he was in the movie.

From what I remember, colossus was always pretty straight lsced for the most part. I think before he was an xman he did some work for the mob unknowingly? Or it was in order to protect his sister? I think?

Last I remember, Colossus was carrying her out of the wreckage. Not sure if they showed her after that
