Tried to order tickets for opening weekend..all the shows from ~6pm on Fri sat sun are mostly sold out only seats avail are about 5 seats scattered throughout the back and ~20 seats in the front rows...for all showings. So I booked at the furniture store nearby..Jordans..they have the largest IMAX screen in the area..no reserved seating though, so will get there about 2 HR early eat at the restaurant in the complex and queue up at about 6 ish.

Thor wasn't the lead actor of Thor 4. It was girlboss Thor. Bale was barely in the film. Waste of 2 great talents. If the movie had showcased Bale vs Hemsworth it would have made billions.

Debatable whether either are truly "s" tier in the way that a Brad Pitt, Matt Damon or Di Caprio are, or a younger De Niro/Pacino were in terms of acting ability and body of work. Outside of Wolverine what memorable movies has Jackman been in? - The Prestige was 18 years ago. Reynolds catalogue lacks a Nolan/auteur "critic credible" movie.

Yeah. Neither of these actors really have huge other gigs. Jackman is arguably semi-retired and doesn't do much at all anymore, this aside, obviously.
Reynolds schtick annoyingly seems to be to do kinda-deadpool-jokes/role in pretty much everything else he does. He's great as Deadpool, and I look forward to this. But he's viciously typecast himself into the most niche corner imaginable outside of Deadpool.

Reynolds has a new movie on Netflix every month. And Jackman can pick and choose roles he's interested in. Or just hold out until disney marvel backs a dumptruck full of money to his house. Both are S tier as far as getting butts in seats. No one is paying any money to see decrepit deniro.

Yeah, Reynolds seems to be stuck in that vintage pop culture reference loop. I'm not a big fan of his, jackman though is iconic as Wolverine. He's very cool in that role. His other stuff I don't care about that much. It's going to be interesting to see how far this hype will transfer into big grosses at the box office. A lot are pinning their hopes on this to be a success.
Really? What hit / success did Jackman have outside Wolverine recently? 2017 The Greatest Showman was a sleeper hit that made up for a slow start with a ridiculously long run. Before that? um? Pan was a horrendous flop in 2016. Some Early 2010s movies like Prisoners, Real Steel and Les Mis, but that is all 10+ years ago at this point? More recently it's basically Hallmark movies like The Son and Bad Education and such?
Reynolds admittedly makes good (Netflix) money with stuff like Red Notice or 6 Underground. But they are clearly minimal effort to maximum paycheck gigs. Free Guy? Spirited? As said, they use one schtick (admitteldy a schtick that makes him piles of money) I am not blaming him for making easy $$$, but he's not gonna become the next Tom Cruise or DiCaprio on that sort of stuff.

But outside being a specifically famous actor, there's another more important bottom line.... That being that unlike many of his acting compatriots he's managed to actually accumulate enough net worth that now his acting is done on a "What he wants to do, when he wants to do it" level. (I think he's worth a shade over $300m right now. So the question will be can this opening weekend match the star's net worth. heh

I'd be surprised if any s-a or even b tier actor/celeb isn't able to rocket boost their net worth via endorsements, investments and producing/getting % of box office revenue
I cba to check but I think Reynolds got brought into the Wrexham acquisition because his partner needed a tier or two higher wealth. Doesn't Reynolds have a tequila company which seems to be the standard Hollywood side business
