That's damn nice. I have a multi-monitor setup but I don't game across them as I hate the bezels breaking up the picture. That is a damn nice amount of extra screen real-estate without having to worry about looking at breaks/bezels in the picture. I wonder if there are any 1440p ultra-wides under $1000 out there? I just can't quite justify spending over a grand on a monitor(your LG is currently $1333 at Newegg)

I had a triple setup of 27inch Dell Ultrasharps before this. I much prefer this method and i have a 28inch off to the side and my 50inch LED connected as well.

Having 2 DVI-D dual link monitors sucks. Would rather put the cost of an adapter toward a ultra-wide than pay some of these prices.

I got some active dp-dual-link dvi adapters from ebay for 45$ or something around that. Anyone ever consider setting something like this up?

People go nuts doing it for their TVs:[COMPLETED with TUTORIAL] Ambilight - Atmospheric lighting behind your TV/Monitor - Home Theater - Linus Tech Tips

But for a PC, just a box and a USB connection and the rest is controlled by software: (howto on ebay listing of a kit) -90 LED Strip Ambibox Lightpack Boblight Backlights for TV or PC or XBMC | eBay

Certainly not for everyone, but as someone who does most of their gaming in the evening for a few hours in a dark office, this would probably be pretty cool.

I'm so jealous of you fuckers with your G-Sync monitors. I've been using the same shitty 23" Acer for like 10 years now, way overdue for an upgrade. Problem is, they're so damned expensive in Canada. $600 for a 24" BenQ XL2420G or $900 for a 27" ASUS PG278Q ROG Swift, and those seem to be the only good 1440p options here.

Are there some better, cheaper options that I'm missing? And is there anything coming down the pipeline that will force prices to come down any time soon? This Acer I'm using is getting to the point where text is getting hard to read on it.

AMDs free sync should cost nothing extra as it should be part of the displayport standard.

Also you look into the gsync is monitor from acer? Supposed to be really good.

People say free sync kinda sucks.

I'm also willing to bet G-sync gets a lot cheaper, since like 10 more g-sync monitors are coming out in the next few months.

I recently purchased a G1 970, so Freesync is pretty much out of the question for me.

The two monitors I mentioned are really the only good 1440p G-sync monitors I can find here. Have any of you used a 24" 1440p monitor? Is that too many pixels in too small of a space?

649$ for the Fury X

I'm probably going to pick up the FuryX to replace my aging 7970.

Mist where did you see people complaining about freesync? Most reviews I've seen have found little difference between it and the G-Sync monitors. G-Sync is always going to be more expensive since it requires a discrete chip to be added to the monitor for it to work and a license fee. Freesync is part of the VESA standard, so it's already included in their existing license. Long term G-Sync is going to go away as almost all monitors will ship with FreeSync within a couple years.

I am going to wait for the dual card this holiday likely unless dual Fury is amazeballs.
