So tell me how bad I fucked up on my monitors by only getting 60hz. I don't

So tell me how bad I fucked up on my monitors by only getting 60hz. I don't play a ton of FPS though I do enjoy them. I was really into OW but I don't have the time to play 20+ hours a week and that is the minimum I need to play on an FPS to keep my skill sharp and be competitive. So after the first 3 weeks of OW I have hardly played because I hate being bad at a game. So tell me did I fuck up on the 60hz?
I'm not sure 60hz is even the big drawback with that monitor. With 7ms response time, you're going to see a fair amount of ghosting. Though I don't see any scientific input lag tests for that particular model, I'd be pretty shocked if it wasn't pretty laggy as well. Most non-gaming consumer level designed to look pretty monitors these days aren't very responsive.

I'd return them and find something suitable for gaming up at DisplayLag | HDTV & Monitor Input Lag Database

Thanks man! I knew that was the right answer I just kinda needed someone to nudge me over the edge. This time I will post what I am gonna buy before I pull the trigger.

That is nice a nice monitor, but for work I really need 2560 x 1440 at a minimum. Plat Maps & Dimensional Plans are a big part of what I do on a daily basis.

I was going to get the MG279Q cause its $200+ cheaper than the GSync, but Asus cripples their FreeSync versions of the monitor. Only works between 35-90 FPS. You can get CRU to change it, but it's pretty lame it doesn't work out of box.

I ended up buying the PG279Q and GTX 1070. Witcher 3 looks amazing 60+ FPS with near maxed settings at 1440p (with a slight overclock on the card).

Think I am going to pull the trigger on that MG278Q and just buy one for now. Then I will keep an eye out for a sale on the PG279Q around Black Friday or Xmas.

If you use multiple monitors with different refresh rates, doesn't it default all monitors to the slowest monitors refresh rate?

If you are running in a window, I believe that is correct

If you're running a game full-screen it can still take advantage of that particular monitors refresh rate wile the rest of your desktop is over on the other monitors and their refresh rate.

False. Windows does NOT default all monitors to the slowest monitor's refresh rate.

I have a 144 Hz for my center/gaming monitor and three monitors at 60 Hz.

I just thought I'd inquire. It behaves that way for RAM and GPUs so it seemed logical for monitors.

Will confirm. Though some programs can be weird. WoW, if full screen (non-windowed) it would not limit refresh rate, if i did windowed/windowed fullscreen, it would max out based on my other monitors that aren't 144. Weirdly enough, if i clicked on another monitor, the windowed wow would then jump above the cap, and then cap again if i went back to the program. This was resolved using a windows setting to control max refresh rate. But primarily, blizzard games have been the only ones to give me any speed bumps with my new monitor.

Sorry if I came off as an asshole. Definitely not my intent/attitude. Just wanted to clarify so people were being misled.
