If you buy on Newegg, make sure you check combo deals. I was going to get a B350 Tomahawk, but saw a combo deal for a ASRock Killer X370 board with the PSU I was getting. 18 bucks off a $145 board that also had a $10 rebate = $117 for a X370 board.

Also picked out my RAM. RAM cost me slightly more than the case, PSU and mobo combined. (after rebates) X370 mobo, sound dampening case and 650w gold PSU. Not even 3200 RAM, only 3000.

Newegg's Ryzen prices are MSRP but there are a ton of combo deals for them there for parts you may be buying anyway, like the Tomahawk.

Looks like the 7700k dropped 20 dollars today.

Begun the price wars have.

Yeah, I was waiting for the 580 prices and specs to come out today, and I wasn't impressed.

Went ahead and bought a 1060 6GB instead. Same price, similar performance (maybe slightly lower), but a whole fuck load less juice to run it.

So what's the difference between a 1060 and a 1080ti performance wise? What do I really need?

I have a 1080p, a 1080p 144hz, and a tv that will all be attached.

I don't do a whole lot now a days. I play Overwatch, Hearthstone, Everspace, Diablo 3. Occasionally some random shit, I stream sometimes. I dunno. I feel like a 1060 is fine for me, but will I notice the difference?

Easy to explain:

If you play at 1080p/60fps all you need is a 1060 and you'll basically never need anything better.

If you have a 1080p/120+ or 1440p/60 fps monitor, you want to find a 1070 on sale.

If you have a 1440p/120+ fps monitor, you should try finding a 1080 on sale.

If you have a 3440x1440 Ultrawide or 4k monitor you want a 1080ti.

I almost forgot: If you want your computer to run hotter than a dumpster fire and have shitty FPS you should buy an RX580.

So in my case having multi monitor and having a 1080/144 the 1070 should be enough? Or is that only considering single monitor stuff?

Also, is being able to power my tv from a motherboard video a thing? That way it doesn't take away from my video card

Do you render games on the second monitor? If not, it doesn't matter.

And yes, you could run video from your onboard GPU to your secondary inputs to not interfere with rendering on the main display. I've used this trick before to eliminate screen tearing in videos playing on the secondary display when Gsync is enabled and running a game on the main display. It can cause other problems in some instances, and will create more heat on the CPU die.

Nah second monitor is shit like Chrome (though I usually have a twitch stream open), Skype (don't judge me, it's not my choice), and shit like that.

Should I be getting third party fans if I get the h110i?

In terms of how effective they are at cooling, its literally 1-2c difference between whatever is stock on an aio and noctuas. Real benefit to buying premium fans is less noise and pwm control. If you do pickup some fans, go with;
Fractal Design Venturi HP Series Black Fluid Dynamic Bearing High Pressure PWM 140mm Radiator/Heatsink Optimized Fan-Newegg.com
or
Phanteks PH-F140MP 140 mm PWM, High Static Pressure Radiator Fan-Newegg.com
Seems odd they would released a rebranded polaris when Vega is due in the next month or so?

Stock fans are fine, albeit noisy at full speed. I swapped mine out for fans I could run 100% fulltime for my overclock that ran a lot quieter. If you are not OC'ing, you can simply use the MB software that will run the fans at slower speeds when the CPU is running cool and they shouldn't be an issue.

I'm pretty likely to overclock, I can't say how much though. I'm pretty preferable to minimal noise now a days.

Is there any opinions on a quiet 1070?

Yea, if you hear your nVidia graphics card, you have bigger problems. I run like 12+ EQ sessions and a HD movie and I never hear a thing.

So all my new shit will be here tomorrow :) 1600x, 16gb Gskill Flare X pc3200, H110i, and a Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 mobo. I'll throw my 1080Ti, and 3 850 Evo SSDs in there on a clean install of Windows 10 and see what's what. Pretty excited, though I must admit I feel kind of dirty going AMD but I couldn't resist! Muwah haha.

I'm kind of already annoyed with Ryzen though because I really wanted to go 32gb of ram, and Newegg had the Gskill Flare X 32gb set (2x16gb sticks) for $199 when I ordered, compared to the $175 I paid for 16gb. However it's only spec'd to run at 2400mhz vs 3200mhz for the 16gb set - and I hear that memory speed is like king shit as far as Ryzen performance is concerned :(
