Crack kills! I can't stand flat screens any longer! 1800 is perfect amount of sweet curvyvosityness.

I even spent some cash for a BS 32" at work for the curve.
I feel you man. I'm the guy with a mechanical keyboard and gaming mice and headsets at work. They do let us order 32 inch curved monitors but I haven't bitten the bullet. Still rocking 2x24

I liked the old IBM mechanical keyboards. It always sounded like I was doing 3x the work that I was actually doing.

While I like the idea of a single curved screen for gaming, I still like the flexibility of having dual screen for doing other things. I understand on a big enough single screen you can "create" 2 screens with it, but it's not the same.

In some cases it can literally be the same. Most of the 49 inch displays can be split into two separate inputs, either two screens from the same source or from different sources.

The CRG9 can even do up to 100 hz in that mode.

Many of the 43 inch displays can be broken out into 4 sources.

yea it's the difference between having an open drawer vs having a cutlery drawer

i mean i can just drag a window and snap it to the left or right and know where it is, vs. doing it on the main screen and futzing with half maximizing window height, ain't no one got time for that.

If you drag a window titlebar to stick against the side of the screen it will resize the window to exactly half your screen.

Well the Acer XR382CQK came in yesterday. Already shipped it back.

3840x1600 38" IPS panel.
75Hz
Freesync
5ms GTG
3 overdrive settings. Though extreme overdrive had inverse ghosting.

The monitor has the height I want, with the width that is perfect. Freesync is a little fluky, but works...barely. Had to use CRU to stop the black screens when the refresh went below 48 frames. GREAT, I mean superb picture quality. The resolution is a tad too high for my 1080ti. Most games I am at 55 or so FPS. That's clearly is not enough for gaming after coming from 120Hz. Someone said once you go Gsync and high Hz, you can't go back. That is the truth. I don't understand how on the Acer EI431CR (43: Ultrawide) when I dip to 55 frames it was still buttery smooth. On this it was just choppy as fuck all around with most games. Some were fine, Like Vermintide 2.

I took pictures of the 43" Ultra wide vs the 38" to give peeps an idea what you are looking at for screen/monitor sizes in case you were looking to snag a new monitor. Do NOT buy this monitor for gaming if using an Nvidia card. The Freesync is just not up to par.

At my work...

We get dual 22” (maybe even 20”) monitors. A lot of us asked for bigger screens but we were told it wasn’t justified for our group by our own management. So, we asked our IT group if we could buy bigger monitors out of our own pocket. They told us no because they’re not “approved” by them, and if we installed them ourselves “we could get injured.” Gotta love big corporations with ridiculous rules. Our IT people are also unionized. They also said no to installing monitors purchased even if it’s one of their approved ones from our internal IT store site.

That's when you play dumb. Get the monitor and install it. Claim you didn't know. NOW that it's installed, there is no risk of getting hurt!

can't you just argue that with 22+ screens your field of vision actually increases b/c the resolution and pixels are physically increased? fuck in christ all those years of everquest throw in some mmo terms.
