The gear system is a bit complex and/or convoluted but once you get the infusion thing and mods all you need to do is play really. Just pick shit that you want to equip, and use anything else to infuse it. Once you get to max level you can work on alternate gear. That's been my plan. I save 1 of each item I may want down the line, especially weapons.
You can get Exotics back (at a lower level , 205) from you collections tab in the bank vault. They cost 10 legendary shards, which you get from breaking down legendary/exotics.

Yeah its in your vault, under collections. I think it costs like 10 shards or some shit to buy back, but it will be at your base PL.

What they need now, since weapons are fixed rolls, is a legendary collection, so you can just shard the shit, and if something new becomes the "meta", you can just buy it back.

So does your little 1/2 shield thing. when you duck down, it reloads your ammos. The problem with that gun is you run out of ammo all the fucking time. Thats why i stopped using it. Get the better devils(crucible drop, pretty common to get it from weekly crucible milestone) and 1-2 shot most things in game other than shielded enemies, then it takes you 4-5.

I doubt they'll do more than a global balance pass to the whole archetype though. So it seems a pretty safe bet to only hang onto Nightshade, Inaugural Address, and A Single Clap. Maybe one more pulse for pvp if you wanted, but it's hard to say which that would be. There's a couple with HCR, but imo it's also a safe bet that stagger will be nerfed into the ground, probably even before they start meddling with the gun types that suck. For pvp sniper everyone still says to keep a blue Aachen-LR2. The new one coming from NM this week might replace it though? It also has the Snapshot Sights perk and seemingly better overall stats.

Sweet Business and Actium War Rig is an fun combo, but it's hard to think of a situation where I'd be willing to give up Wardcliff and Merciless. Other than niche stuff like Coldheart in the raid, I feel like the power slot is dedicated to exotics.

So how does pvp work is this? I assume they must just flatten everyones gear level? Sure doesn't feel like it though. Some matches feel fine, but a decent chunk of them feel like my guns just do no damage people and I'm getting oneshot by everything constantly?

PvP is fairly flat in terms of level, but guns are a huge difference. Be aware of weapon ranges, there are points where damage falls off tremendously. So if you're trying to shoot someone far away with a sidearm or smg, and he has a scout rifle, you'll get destroyed.

Ended up at about 295 on my last character (293.8 base). Feel like that's pretty good in comparison to the Wasted website.
I never got a chance to try the raid or trials (did snag It Stared Back from the clan vendor though, which is fucking awesome). Maybe this coming week I'll sit in the Reddit discord to do it.
I may have also run into a bug, that isn't super helpful at this point, but would have been awesome to power up your 2nd and 3rd characters. I haven't tested it yet, but it's possible you can run the Mida quest twice.

You can do every exotic quest once per character. MIDA is faster on alts because you can immediately start with the mini tool.
