The higher the color means you have a chance of getting a better item, although small... , its still a chance. I've gotten so many blues and greens from purple engrams that I don't even get my hopes anymore
Right, he's just saying that's a retarded system. The "chance/lotto" already happened when the engram showed up as purple instead of blue or green. The only thing left to chance should be what the weapon/armor actually is, not it's rarity at this point. It just pisses people off when they see purple, and then get a fucking blue/green. It's a stupid system.

Whoever got two purples out from three blue engrams is ridiculously lucky. I've lost count of the blue engrams I've turned in without a purple showing up.

I completely agree. Its just their way of prolonging the game. You got to admit that story mode was pretty short (2-3days for me).

So increase purple engram rarity. Effectively the same, but it's nowhere near as annoying.

2 legendary engrams, 1 item for another class, 1 blue
Tons of blue engrams 1 legendary sniper 1 legendary rocket launcher. Still using the damn stranger's rifle, can't find a blue+ main weapon above 16 to save my life.

Just got my last piece of Legendary gear. Almost level 28.

I finally got my first legendary (machine gun, because apparently the cryptarch knows I prefer rockets), and I probably play just as much as you do.

---------------------

Heroic strike is almost as easy to solo this week as last. Fight from the entrance during the door-unlock waves, and be sure to bring fire weapons to take down the wizards. Trash clearing is simple, nothing special until the two hallowed knights guarding Phogoth's door. Killed them with super then ran inside to the rock back left and hid behind the outcropping halfway up the wall behind it. If you can kill the knights before they shell you to death with their mortar attack it's all over. Took me three tries to get a favorable setup there, but after that whittling down Phogoth was no problem. Took all the ammo I had but I didn't have to use any consumables at all. Total time: 45 minutes. Pretty sure that's considerably faster than any of the times I've done it with a matchmaking group. Still no loot, just the coins.

Personally I find trying to beat that sort of stuff more fun than anything else in the game. It's disappointing that there's absolutely no reason to do the story missions on any difficulty higher than the first hard setting. L20-28 versions are completely pointless, as you get no reward at all for doing them and the loot drops don't seem to change either. (I'm not actually allowed in L28 yet, thanks for RNG assfuckery, but nothing has changed at L24 so I don't expect it to at L28 either.)

can you say a bit more about solo'ing heroic strike, is that daily or weekly? What kind of level should you have before you try? I loved iron manning stuff in wow, would like to try it in here but not sure if I am geared enough or know much about the bosses.

I fought phogoth once on normal (22) pug and found it crazy, do the adds constantly respawn or just at boss %s? clear adds, dps boss, kill adds, rinse repeat is the strat for solo kill or do you just boss burn and try to dodge adds? Have you solo'd the dust palace strike, I found that one also unbearable with the 3 "bosses" and the insane number of adds that seem to constantly respawn.

I guess having a couple of ammo restock consumables really helps too.

if anyone has a good twitch destiny raid stream please post when I search it just cycles endlessly
edit: heres one im watching dunno if its the best oneTwitch
