I dismantled my shadow price half way through TDB.

Some stuff in the patch is funky. Some crucible stuff that shouldn't drop until tuesday is, and some things like speaker exchanges, no more shards/energies from packages, and no more accomodations are missing but should have gone live today.

Well this is fun. Home from work and ready to get a taste of the HoW changes but the same idiots who killed PSN for 4 days at Christmas are doing it again.

Hm, all my Legendary items from release / TDB have Etheric Light listed as upgrade materials, but none of the Exotics I have show it listed. Trying to solo some of these QW bounties is a bitch, and guess the bug with Legendary engrams also effects some Rares, since the Cryptard won't "see" the blue engram I have even though he has the green ! over his head.

I believe you don't see etheric light as a mat for exotic upgrades because exotic upgrades only cost an exotic shard and some weapon parts. 365 gjallarhorns and icebreakers day 1!

i managed to get all 4 current bounties done on each of my chars before PSN went down from lizardsquad. they are pretty easy if other people are around, its basically public event quests. not even sure what the point of queens wrath rep is, since all she currently sells is some shaders and emblems (which you could have bought last time queenie was up). maybe when HoW goes live she'll sell more shit, and of course there is a whole new tower like zone in the reef which prob has some new vendors. You can also loot a chest for 90 secs after each HoW public event, gotten just engrams (2 legendaries) and mats although a buddy got a prison of elders loot key, I assume the raid has chests in it that require keys. You can double dip on the chests if you loot, run to zone line, and run back.

also if you do your daily PVP you get a passage coin for trials of osiris, dunno if doing the daily story quest also gives you a new item.

and yeah exotics only will require some glimmer, a shard, and weapon/armor parts. legendaries will require etheric to upgrade, so that will be gated behind your POE/etc progress.

When HOW goes live that npc will be in the reef with a lot more goodies so they're just letting us have a chance at working on rep. Not a big deal if you miss out on the bounties.

However those chests do have a random chance at POE treasure keys so I highly recommend anyone that plans on playing during HOW to do the chest farming.

Finished all 6 queen bounties on all 3 characters. Have done a total of 24 wolf events with probably 40-45 total chest openings. Tons of blue engrams, 0 legendary engrams, 1 treasure key. So ready for Tuesday!

Farmed the chests a bunch this weekend. Have 5 keys, purple engram for head, chest, gloves, and class item. Bank and 2 characters full of blue engrams as well.

Just spent an hour farming chests in Skywatch. Got 2 more keys and 2 legendary engrams (heavy and chest). I recommend the Skywatch wolf event if you want quick farming. The event is every 8 minutes and the chest locs are mostly all near zonelines so you can loot them at least 2 or 3 times each.

from what someone said in an IGN podcast it sounds like you will get 1 key per week from each of the PoE levels (32, 34, 35) and there is a single chest at the end you can loot with it that will contain armor/weapons/mats. You can only get 1 key/level from running it, but you can get extra keys from chests, nightfall, PVP, etc and run it again to get more loot.

So yeah, after 2 or 3 weeks the chests won't be really that useful since you will probably be level 34 and not really care that much about more items, but I guess for the first week its semi useful to farm them. Only if you think you will have the time to run multiple POEs though, if you only plan on running one or two a week then farming them now is pretty useless

I logged on for the first time in months yesterday, did the chest events and farmed those for about 2 hours, getting the chest 2 times on almost every event. No keys, but I guess it doesn't matter much

servers are down until 10am at which point HoW should go live. I ended up farming 4 keys, tried a few rounds of salvage last night and saw 5-6 new dlc weapons drop (for other people, not me). the new +1 shotgun looks pretty awesome, better than felwinter in every stat.

i installed this last night, its a pretty cool chrome extension that lets you manage your destiny inventory far easier, moving stuff between all 3 chars

spronk, the servers are not down at all. People are playing the game on twitch right now. I'm guessing they will just have to restart their game to activate HoW

DIM is awesome for managing gear. I recommend it highly as well.

Not a single HoW item from the nearly 50 blue engrams I turned in today, the one legendary engram (boot) I got from a bounty chest turned into some nice boots that were already maxed out (aside from the one perk it had). Ascending items didn't reset the items, which is great.

i got a shit load of items from edging reps and getting new care packages. its insanely easy to level HoW items, it takes like... 6 or 7 bounties and they are maxxed out (less for armor). its nice that the new items require virtually no mats (like 25 spinmetal, etc TOTAL) but it also means those of us who have 4-5x stacks of every mat are stuck with a bunch of extra crap. Hopefully they change the stack size on those to 1000 or something, they are filling up all my inventory and i can't even do shit with them.

I got a treasure key after doing 3 bounties (the fallen public event ones), it came in care package 2. Didn't get one from care package 1. Wasn't a rep rollover thing, I'm still 2619/3000 rank 1. Not sure though what the point of leveling the rep for her is gonna be, I'll be like rank 3 this week or next and it doesn't really look like there is anything to buy.

i couldn't really find anything to buy at the vendors. I ended up getting a Red Hand IX just to buy something, but all the armor is light level 32 (etheric to 34) and all the guns are pretty meh. Plus if you edged your reps you will get a few just from turning it over. It looks like the elemental damage weps will be harder to get, either PoE 35 or ToO maybe?

The story is great, I'm not a fan of POE but never was gonna like horde mode, PVP updates are nice and fine. I just don't see a lot of meat in this DLC, and so far I haven't really seen a weapon that screams MUST HAVE like thorn, gallahorn and ice breaker.

My package from ranking up Vanguard gave me 2 Motes of Light...nice. Ranked up Cryptarch? Four blue engrams total.

I had 2 cryptarch packages and 1 vanguard, got like 2 blues and a single mote of light. We did the 28 and 32 poe fights, they weren't bad. Tried the 34 one and I'm sure we could have gotten it if we wanted to put more time in it.

You definitely need to get some keys before doing Poe. You get one from completing the main quest line for each character, but otherwise you gotta farm them. Sucks doing Poe and not getting to open the chest.

Is there a common key farm PE people do? I switch between the two on Venus (because they are the easiest imo to get the chest a second time) and I'm always doing it alone.
