I'm guessing dexter is going to get arrested and goes to trial. The judge says his punishment and as he smacks down his mallet, Dexter wakes up. He passed out from the gas that was turned on in the cabin. Doakes walks in the front door, "Surprise Motherfucker!" The past 5 seasons were all just a dream. Finally it will be Doakes vs Dexter in an plot holed, explosions everywhere, incest galore final season!

In the preview I saw they just show Doakes in the office and the 'surprise motherfucker' part doesn't match up with his lips at all. I'm sure it's just a flashback or something
Though him leaving the show and having nobody challenge Dexter for a while did hurt the show a bit, especially with how sloppy he's been

Some of you are looking way too hard at the preview. Previews are intentionally misleading and often contain new scenes that aren't even in the actual episode.

Deb doing highway stunts and then drinking her cool-aid is not a lot more stupid than Hannah noticing Deb drinks bottled water, sneaking into her house, noticing the anti-depressant and deciding to spike the water with the anti-depressant, hoping that, maybe, she will drink water before doing something dangerous so that maybe she will die as a result? All the while hoping Dexter, the forensics guy, will not find out about it?

Whoever even entertains the slightest thought of Doakes really being alive is a god damned idiot. It's obvious it's a daydream or something. It's even more obvious than Isaak being gay.
It's also obvious that Deb spiked her own water. Whether she found some way to crash her car without her in it, then drink the water, or some clever highly-implausible scenario the writers come up with, she set it up herself.

The only way im buying it was deb is if it was explained as a suicide attempt.deb wanting to kill herself makes a fuck more sense. She may have also wanted to kill herself and do it in such a way that it might lead to hanna. Except hanna only uses her poison plants to kill people, not scrip meds. dex should pick up on that

I mean c'mon, dexter is Batman. And it's a great show. But he's Batman.
Honestly I've liked every season for different reasons. The whole Miami metro is full of retards has never bothered me before, and I don't see why it should now. That's just a basic premise that allows the show to work. Batman can't be Batman without Gotham PD either being corrupt, bumbling, or supportive of him.
Deb did it to herself I'm pretty sure. Letting Hannah go was batshit crazy.
The La Guerta set up was pretty good though. Mixed feelings but overall I've liked this season more then the last few.

I could see how Deb could have done it to herself. If you look at the wrecked car, there's no apparent evidence of a major impact, and the passenger side appears to be untouched. If she rolled the car at a low rate of speed, say 20-30mph, it's plausible that she would survive with just an injured arm. At a higher rate of speed the car would have flipped more than once and would show much more damage. You can probably find how-to stunt driving vids on youtube or whatever.

I like this season. It's not season 1/2 quality, but at least it's not like season 6, that was fucking horrible. As others have said, even Dexter just cruising along is better than most shitty shows.
Um no. Just no. I won't discount that she did it to herself, since you know, the writting has sucked ballz this season and it's totally possible that the writers would try to pull that shit off. But if that was actually what happened, don't try to make it sound plausible. It's absolutely fucking retarded. That car was TRASHED. No one would put their life on the line like that unless they were in a stunt car or something.
