For gem of ease you just need any old weapon and it'll work, right? So at 13 (lowest for weapon socket still?) I can just slap it in and it'll work?

IK is 2 piece for perma Cota in 2.2. It might not work and would definitely require RoRG, but at this point we don't know just yet.

Edit: Tenks - yeah that should be fine. Obviously if you level the gem to 25 you could use a level 70 weapon and its crazy (As in mid 40s in less than 5 minutes on T6).

I don't even have my non-luxury gems to 25!

I got the gungdo bracer, leoric crown and rorg on the monk yesterday, also have an ancient cindercoat I can use on him if there is a good fire build. Haven't crafted any gear yet but can make whatever. Someone who knows monks give me a good build to use. I don't have the crudest boots yet but that is the first item I'm using blood shards to get.

If you don't have Sunwuko set, get Sunwuko set. Way more important than crudest boots. You can use Cindercoat with Fire Bells and do fine, I think usually you drop either Aughild's or the 4-piece Inna's set for Cinder though. I personally hate dropping Aughild's but if you want to use Gungdo that's your best option there too.

Gungdo just doesn't work well enough in practice though, once you have Sunwuko. Since I stopped using it I think I've had one scenario where I missed having it, otherwise it just is pointless with a bell build (which is THE monk build right now). Which is a shame because it's fun as hell when it chains.

I did get 1pc sunwukos last night, I think it was a hat. What is the best order to gamble on the rest?

crafted hellfire amulet on monk, stats are:

+79-155 damage
cold skills deal 15% more damage
+729 Dex
critical hit chance increased by 10%
+7042 life after each kill
Gain the Beacon of Ytar passive

good? bad? reroll damage or cold to gem socket?

For SWK, you probably want gloves then shoulders. I think ideally you want the Ammy too so you can use Innas or Leorics helm but eh, good luck getting a half-ass decent SWK ammy

That hellfire is pretty bad overall. Cold damage isn't really a monk think, it should be CHD instead of +dmg, and you need a socket too. Like, it's not the worst, but it's very far from "optimal"

Edit: Beacon of Ytar is a good free passive for what it's worth though with SWK, for Epiphany and Mystic uptimes.

seems really tough to get a decent hellfire amulet. I can roll the cold dmg over to a socket or crit hit damage to get me by until something better comes along

Hat is the piece nobody uses, unforunately. Leoric's Crown is too good, and you need to get your SWK 4pc from gloves, shoulders, and amulet (+RoRG). Shoulders are the easiest to gamble for (and also more likely to drop as well), while gloves are about 50% harder to gamble and vastly harder to get a pair that actually rolls well. I gambled gloves first for that reason, and got my shoulders in the process from a rift boss. Amulet... good luck. At 100 shards a pop, a pool filled to the brim with shit, and very strict requirements on what constitutes a good one, it's like winning the lottery whether you get it from Kadala or as a random drop. I got mine fairly early on and then I got two more from chests about 50 yards apart. Second was shit and third was ancient and still not an upgrade over my original one. Problem with the first one is that it has locked me into fire ever since I got it. So yeah, it's a pain in the ass.

Your hellfire is 'ok'--at least you got a good passive--and I guess I'd reroll the cold% to a socket if I was desperate for something to go in that slot. Normally I'd say to keep trying but since a monk doesn't actually want a HF amulet at all I would just not bother with that unholy grind.

P.S. Powerlevel a DH before you try to get yourself a Leoric's Crown. Spirit stones ruin it if you try to gamble on a monk. As long as you get one with crit on it naturally, you can reroll something useless into 15% bells damage.

I already have a DH that is very well geared, and I do have the Leoric's crown on the monk with a diamond socketed.
