So I miss the way better graphics of the PC version of Diablo, even though I just picked up the console version. That, and all of my friends who play are on PC.

Is it worth getting Diablo 3 on PC right now? Is it possible to ignore the AH and still have a good time, or should I just hold off until Spring when expansion + AH removal goes in?

When is it ever a good idea to play a Blizzard game in the months before an expansion releases?

Will play this just to check out the Crusader class.

...Sad because that's going to be what? $40 just to try out a new class? Fuck me. Will try, but won't be able to, resist.

Oh, and Adventure Mode. Yes.

Not sure how bounties are like dailies.
Well there's double reward bounties that seem to change on server time or something. They also reward generic items, tokens(blood shards), xp and gold. So yeah they're kinda like daillies, only that they're not technically daillies since they reset whenever you're done or whatever(not exactly sure what's the conditions for reset but I see people doing them all day long). They're really just randomly generated mini quests that use the existing content.

I'm not a super big fan of the concept and I do hope they plan on making nephalem rifts better in comparison, as currently they seem pretty pointless vs just running bounties, since bounties provide additional rewards constantly while Nephalem rifts is mostly just grinding large packs of mobs until you spawn one boss that proceeds to drop 3blues and 1rare item so basically like any other mob, and you don't get a quest reward for it either. There also should be an incentive to clear all the levels of the rift, not just the first 2-3 that get you to spawn the boss.

Still early though, and still beats whatever was in vanilla, which was nothing. Shit just running the zones in adventure mode without needing to pick up the quests/talk to every npc on the way/skip cutscenes is pretty cool.

^Yeah this was my gripe with the Rifts as well while watching streamers today. Hope they iterate on it a bit.

Yeah, it's just grinding little quests. It's fucking World of Warcraft.

How do they not understand that these packaged rewards (from the fucking netherworld, out of thin air) after you expend 3 minutes of effort is fuckingNOT DIABLO?

I'm sure they'll up the rewards on rifts to make the time investment longer. But you do realize that 3 minutes of effort is precisely what Diablo was? Meph runs, pindle runs, baal runs. Some shorter than 3 minutes, baal maybe a bit longer. Cow level could take that long if you had a javazon. Ubers might have taken longer, but I'm sure infernal machine will still be around in the expac too.

Furthermore, how is this any different than NV stacks now? It's gotta be in neat little quest packages for you to hate it?

Bounties sounds like a direct copy of legendary quests in Marvel Heroes. You get assigned one of maybe a dozen quests and upon completion get xp and Odin Marks which you spend to get your legendary item. You get double Odin Marks every 24 hours server time per character.

Haha, yeah, it really does. Hopefully they give huge exp like Odin mark quests too. It's fun having objectives.

My concerns from watching some RoS streams:

-BoA ALL THE THINGS (seriously guys, even to crafting mats? Dial it back a notch.)
-Welcome to Paragon 2.0! You're weaker now.
-Mob density seems way less. I thought them originally increasing it was one of the more fun additions to vanilla.
-Exp gaining seems *extremely* slow for Paragon 2.0.

There's lots of things I like too:

-Rifts being random all the random randoms. That's fun to me.
-Increased randomness while in Act 5 (however, this just makes 1-4 that much more boring)
-"Design your build / change your playstyle for that new legendary that dropped" seems to be working well and exciting
-Loot 2.0
-Adventure Mode, about fucking time.
-Difficulty scaling - much better than "play the game 3 times in order". I did like the MP system a lot though.

Jury is still out on:

-Overall combat feel changes - less spiky, which *seems* like it'd be a good thing, but I've also been a fan of letting people make glass cannons if they want.
-Lots of people saying Crusader just stomps all over the other classes. Feels like "buy our expansion" bait. Not that it affects me though - I like my Monk, and it's fucking D3, I'm fine with joining a group of friends and having 1 or more of them being super powerful.
-Fucking reflect damage, ugh

This is the best change in RoS imo. D3 has been destroyed by botting, making all the best loot self-found is the only way to fix it.

Nice of you to ignore the first paragraph. Perhaps you should explain what you think Diablo 2 was. All I see so far is hating.
You seriously don't discern a difference between Diablo 2's system of "Here, go wherever the fuck you want and kill shit, and see what drops. Enjoy!" ... compared to this nonsense (even D3 vanilla had it via the quest system, although since it was only a bunch of XP, it wasn't this bad) where you're given little bite-sized mini quest objectives for bundles of magically delivered loot and reward? It's the same thing that makes WoW so fucking dry, stale, and soul-less.

I didn't think I needed to spell that part out, sorry.
