I'm baffled how people are getting such high sheet damage (I'm on 250,000 and can do Torment 1). I only get sidegrades with 1% extra damage.
Is literally every item having main stat/attack speed/crit/crit damage? Then where is the survivability coming from?

Most people on softcore run DPS builds. Better to kill all shit in your wake really fast than to have to worry about outliving a mob.

When I got a level 70 weapon it upped my DPS like 40% BEFORE I put a crit gem in it.
Yeah I'm at like 750k sheet and that is even with 90% fire damage modifiers not applying. I'm more baffled how Chris' dps is so low.

Yea sheet DPS is your profile. It's your DPS before passives/buffs are taken into account (to my knowledge).

540k char sheet damage and 20mil effective DPS now. Huzzah for hidden shit.
Pro tip: Dmg vs. Elites diminishes after 30% by 1/2. I had 98% on last night and dps details said I had 68%. So get a SoJ and you're good. Or stack some set bonuses like Aughilds or Blackthornes and you're set.

1/2 past 30% w/ 98% would = 64%, maybe its multiplicative like resource/cooldown reduction?

Probably, didn't crunch too much on it. Just noticed that I was gaining ~ 1/2 after 30% and full effect up to 30%. Kinda dumb it makes diamonds in weapons worthless for sure now.
They need to add a cap to critical hit damage I think and that would allow people to fucking socket other gems rather than emeralds as well as making 2handers viable, or close to it, again.

I have some legendaries and rares to swap in for the low level stuff and alternate belts/bracers/gloves but the damage doesn't beat the % fire bonuses or moonlight ward insanity. Only legendaries which drop for me are Rings/Amulets/Weapons. I'm actually at 200,000 with this build but can get 250,000 sheet damage though the character will be less powerful.

Someone was telling me Sunday that IAS was a bullshit stat that shouldn't be paid attention to... or that it wasn't that important... or something.
Anyways I fucking rerolled a bunch of it for crit damage so that mother fucker better have been right.

Well your bracers are only 3/2 in affixes so you can gain crit there without having to lose anything. You're wearing a soj, which is awesome, don't change that, but it does nothing for your paper dps. Since we just learned inc damage vs elites is multiplicative you're only gaining 4% from it in your unity so maybe reroll that to crit damage if you haven't rerolled it/don't want to give up the loh. Cindercoat again not big for paper dps, but big in terms of edps. Get crit on your gloves since it can roll to 10 there, 900 loh is nothing these days so reroll that if you haven't rerolled anything there. You ideally want crit on your helm. And I don't fully understand the moonlight ward since I never got one, is the proc that good? No dex, low crit, and no crit damage is another big loss in dps there, actually huge as it would increase the dps of all your other skills by a big margin.
Oh yeah, and no socket/emerald in weapon is another big one.
At least I know I'm not the only one still using Witching Hour. I have a stack of other belts, but I'm still using that fucker.
