If you're using pets and smashing out some bone spears you can make a passable build up to and around the T25 mark. It's around there that multiple affix elites with suppressor really fuck your day up. Your reapers can't solo an elite under the shield and your mages can't dps through it. With some fancy footwork, you can position your mages under the shield and spam some spears to take them out.

All that flies out the window as soon as YOU can't be under the shield at the same time either, like with the fire affix.

I had been running a modified version of Kripps summoner, and was slowly transitioning from elemental resists to more armour. I finally abandoned that, checked out the Bone Spirit build and said, nope, that's fucking retarded, and built a full spectrum Bone Spear build.

With pure bone damage and some heavy armour/damage reduction I feel like I can push much higher than I was. I had the Butcher spawn in my nightmare dungeon at 72 and face tanked him while point blanking him with spears. He died in about 30 seconds, I got some loot. Didn't end up feeling pressured at all. Last time he showed up, it was a full on Benny Hill affair that took about 10 minutes.

So far, so good.

Pushing to Ancestral gear (WT4) should be your focus (completing the level 70 capstone). Then you can fuck around and unlock the rest of the stuff while getting some sweet loot.

I am thinking about switching up the build from pets to spear as well. The pets die too easily and time is taken to resurrect them only to watch them die hard again. The damage they do is ok but I can easily see where in later stages the damage will not compare to other classes.

What Bone Spirit build are you using?

So is there anything in D4 like the bounty system from D3? That was one of the bright spots, in my opinion. Not having to lvl through the story every time was a real plus for repeat characters.

Bounties in D3 are different than what you're thinking of. You're thinking of Adventure mode. Bounties were a garbage system required to get crafting materials that were pretty much universally maligned because they were mundane, tedious, and annoying.

The Tree of Whispers is kind of bounties. Earn 10 points from different tasks and get a Box with random items and a legendary.

Like many have said the game is decent, it's fun enough for a play through and works for any casual type to log on for 15-30 min if they want. Problem is the scaling, scaling makes the game total ass aids the higher you go. Right now I am 70 and have all the renown garbage unlocked - one should be enough for a lifetime in this game and the fact they want people to do this shit seasonally will kill replayability.

What is really mind blowing side from the balance and scaling issues where Blizzard is proving to be complete fucking moronic failure faggots who have to knee jerk nerf shit by huge degrees because "we didn't know you could do that" American Inventors you made the game how did you not know how shit worked? Still put balance and scaling aside for now.

The real let down is the step backwards they have made with so many basic core features.

How is the guild system fucking worse that D3, or WoW or any of their other games? The clans are beyond dogshit.

The profiles, how are the fucking profiles worse than D3? in D3 I could look up another persons build, gear, paragon, skill layout, as well as ladder ranking, and what rift they cleared along with what spec and gear they used for said clear. You could even search by specs if you wanted to. Diablo 4 has none of these features for no real reason and the version they do have sucks donkey cock.

Loot filtering this shit is basic ARPG 101 at this point how did these cock pirates overlook such a basic goddamn function. Well we all know the reason its because the game isn't designed by people who play the fucking game. Because their is no search feature, no stat feature, no filter of any kind often enough you don't even care to look much at certain items.

Stash tabs are beyond a problem because the shit we're forced to store isn't even gear many times... if you ever want to alter your play style you are forced to hold on to every legendary because of this imprint horseshit they made.

The nightmare dungeons are fun enough but again due to scaling you actually become weaker the higher you go in many ways.

I assume you mean Spear, not Spirit (I tried it, it was clunky as fuck, too much set up). I've taken the standard Bone Spear build from maxroll and fucked around with a few things. Chiefly, I've removed Blood Mist, and I use Decrepify for instant slow, damage reduction and cooldown reduction. While the cooldown reduction isn't as noticable as with the minion build it takes a bunch of the cooldown off Bone Storm for the next elite pack. Although, most elite packs die within 2 spears anyway. I don't take Compound Fracture either, I use Rapid Ossification (something I just changed too, so I might switch it back, we'll see.)

I have +4 bone spear and and +4 tendrils (so I only have 1 point in tendrils for more skill points in other places.

I'm using the paragon board from maxroll's bone spear endgame build skipping a few things to push further down the board, I'm almost at the 4th and final board. If you're really keen I could make up a character planner with my exact build. I'm certain there's nothing ground breaking I'm doing, unless you count the mad levels of damage reduction on my gear.

Whisper dungeons (don't clear, just push for completion). 2 runs = bounty done.

Great thanks! Was there level gating somewhere to get the tree unlocked? Seem to remember someone saying there was.

I saw this the other day, and was thinking about giving it a go whenever I get to that level or whatever. Looks like it might be fun.

The most efficient XP is grinding in the pvp zones. The spawn rate is absurd, particularly champions, and there's a bajillion events.

Each whisper dungeon is worth 5 favours. 10 favours = reward from tree. The reward is a cache of mats, gear and sometimes a sigil, plus you get the glyphs you need for your paragon board. It's also a large amount of xp. You will get the aspects from completing the dungeon if you've not done that one before as well.

The more I play this the more I hate the garbage UI, the dumb inventory choices and other needless tedium.

Also, if you have to regrind renown and statues every season I will definitely quit playing. I hate side quests and random dungeons being mandatory, it conflicts heavily with the "log in and do content you like" ethos they claim.
