What happens when your transqueer overlords design a game after firing the actual talented game designers because they said something someone found offensive at work.

The real question being, is he annoyed at himself for being one or being forced into that position?

Can anyone name a single innovation that either D3 or D4 had that will be copied by the future entries in the genre?

Ah, must be that time of the year when the PoE shills decide to troll every thread talking about how innovative and original and non-woke PoE is and how it's the best game ever in the history of the world and everything else wishes it was PoE.

I regretted buying D3 very early, never even touched D4, and could have played them in my spare time no matter what other games I played. I chose not to because they were fundamentally WORSE than D2 in every way. Gameplay, story, gear, progression; you name it, D2 did it better.

Can you name one single innovative thing that D3 or D4 did. One thing. One single solitary thing that was adopted by the ARPG genre because it was just too good to pass up?

Seasons. D3's seasons prior to d4 release were particularly amazing. Not all were great, but a lot of them were, and the ones that changed the game in a positive way usually became part of the base game going forward. I can't speak to d4's yet, since I have only really participated in the current one.

I have no desire to play PoE 2 as of right now and haven't looked at literally anything about it other than random minor crap i've heard before anything was released. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I've played PoE on and off since closed beta when dual spork totems was the meta and there were like 2 people in the 90s on standard. I played D1, I played D2, I played D3, I played D4, I played TQ and LE and Sacred 2 or Gold or something (I forget which one tbh, we had it on one of the Playstations and I played with one of my brothers but it was long time ago). I played Hellgate: London but not at release, it was significantly later, I played a couple of the Torchlights.

I can and did find enjoyment in all of them, and I didn't have to run around screaming "PoE is such innovative many wowe, totally no woke stuff in this game where religious white people and Innocence are the bad guys and Sin is the good guy, and the heroes are all lesbian cunts, tribal doofuses, witches and murderers. You know it's super innovative because they took the FFX stat system and put it into their ARPG, insane originality!"

I barely even remember touching D3, and the only reason I do, is because of an email that I received from them stating that I had played 57 hours (either that or 5.7 hours, I don't remember) and that it wasn't eligible for refund. I must've bought it drunk.

Xenonauts 2? I remember buying that game. D3 and above? Fuck, it's a blur.

I don't even think that's the point. POE2 passes the vibe check alone and that gets everyone hooting and hollering.

A game designed to please the now middle aged dude crowd who grew up playing Doom, Warcraft, and so on? POE2 has the vibe of Diablo II. Something blizzard can no longer create. Given the state of the Western game industry its yet another signal that the only people who believe in making non faggoty games these days are indie studios and Asians. Hence the excitement as this further confirms that belief.

The vibe is what is purely making me want to play POE2. The graphics are on point. The interactions between spells and other players is awesome. But I know that in the back of my head, I aint got the time or patience to play anything for 200+ hours again. Especially, per season. I'm still going to play it. Im just being realistic that I know I wont kill but maybe one or two pinnacle bosses at most.

POE was doing leagues almost a full year before D3's first season.

zombiewizardhawk zombiewizardhawk POE can claim genre defining crafting, stash management, content delivery, and talent trees off the top of my head.

Crafting that everyone always agrees is shitty, and is constantly being changed, which has been incorporated into which other games? Stash management, just pay a bunch of money for all these cool tabs to manage your stash! Have either of these been adopted by the arpg genre? I guess paying for stash space did since I think you have to buy it in LE but not positive on that.

By talent trees do you mean the stat wheel which I already mentioned earlier is literally just the FFX levelling system? Taking something from FFX and throwing it into your game isn't my idea of innovating.

I don't know what came first between PoE mapping (actual progressable mapping, not the old school run a map and pray to rngesus that you could get another map to drop after spending all your currency on it before getting sad and going back to your docks mf parties and piety runs/dominus runs once A4 came) and D3 rifts.
