Not a big fan of dusts in general, I almost always buy sentries instead cause they double as dewarding and you can drop them in anticipation of an invis hero running into your team, which is important for pushes, plus they last a while in a lane so it makes it hard for an invis hero to farm it. Some heroes are better countered by dusts however. I don't feel Weaver is one, cause he can remove dust with Time Lapse and since the cd is like 50secs then you're fucked. Also buy a gem if I have the money, but that's not often.
I'd say they're both worth it for different situations.

Sentries are for defensive lanes and pushing, dust is for ganking.

Yeah but with inventory and gold being very limited as generally the only guy who buys either, I'll buy sentries most of the time, I find them more useful overall due to dewarding. Inventory is especially a big issue, otherwise I'd carry both and use based on the case. Even for ganking though, drop a sentry on the enemy and if you have the disables(and you should if you're ganking), then there's no issue. Biggest problem is with very fast heroes like shadowblade manta drums builds, where people might manage to run out so you need to drop a 2nd sentry, but even that I find to not be much of an issue because I've had plenty of times where a sentry dropped 2mins ago detect something useful later on. I also don't like when you dust and it gets dispelled or one of the invis hero wasn't in range, since you can't dust again right away. If dusts had no cd I think I would use them more often maybe.

Both have their pros and cons and you should know when to use which to be a good support. Since they stack, I think I prefer dust, especially on melee supports like ES or SK, since you can't deward alone. It's one of those things that would be much easier if you weren't the only guy buying detection on your team, or you could just buy the sentries/dust for the initiator, but my experience taught me I'm on my own.

Fuck TL playing like shit, you know it's bad when they can't even win with the only thing they were ever good at.

I'm in the low low tier I can only imagine, but I queue up for random and single draft. Had 2 single drafts in a row that I went Skeleton King, and then Sven. I like Sven much better, but both games were wins. Winning games always makes you feel like a million bucks! but I read a guide and finally realized to go stun, stats, stun stats, stun, and those 2 points in the beginning really make a difference. In the lower tiers that I'm playing, I don't feel newer players are ready for the stun doing so much damage?

I don't know, but I really enjoyed those heroes.

Sven and SKK are fairly basic heroes, they're simple to play yet for the most part pretty good. Skeleton King was buffed decently, he's not competitive material I don't think but he's definitely good, and while Sven has fall out of grace I think he still has huge potential.

Stats build is fairly common on these 2 heroes, as well as Juggernaut(much more squishy but very strong abilities), because their mana pool is shit and their spells expensive yet very powerful. You can skip it depending on what you buy at the start and how your lane is going though, for example on Sven one point in the speed+armor buff can net you early kills while on SKK I believe the new mortal strike active can save your life. Matter of tradeoff but yeah they're some of the few heroes where it can be better to get stats early on.

You might like Slardar, Chaos Knight, Tiny, Centaur and Spiritbreaker if you like fairly tanky high damage stunning heroes, all of which are fairly good. Also Slardar is a natural counter to invis. Make sure you use a guide that recommends Aghanim Scepter for Tiny though, he used to be played as a mid ganker but nowadays he's a much better carry, the upgrade from Aghanim is brutal on him.

The shit storm going on from SC2 fans about Blizzard scheduling 3 WCS finals the same time as TI3 is hilarious.
TotalBiscuit, Destiny, and Sheth bitching about it on reddit atm.

Well it is pretty retarded of them. Also on a related note, Godz says Valve will be streaming TI3 on Youtube as well as Twitch. Not that it makes much of a difference to me since my connection is shit to both in the evening anyway, so I'll most likely be using the ingame client, but it's maybe nice for Blizzard since that means MAYBE twitch won't lag as much. Not that likely though.

No one throws harder than EG. No one. They didn't even get close to qualifying for TI3

KP is looking really good. They went 1-2 against Na'Vi, but if they had drafted like a more experienced team they might have actually taken the series. They're kind of dark horsing it right now and I think they're a team that could do some good things.

There's supposedly some drama behind the scenes and it actually might be permanent, or at the very least the guy he's replacing may be let go.

EG v KP is in 20, and KP really SHOULD dominate them, but it's been a strange few weeks in dota. EG has never been a team that plays well after a loss though, and they just took it up the ass 2-0 from iCCup who they should have beaten.

Skele king needs to be able to toggle his aura to effect only heroes

Maybe fiddle with the active/crit chance to make him more competitive

His hellfire blast is fine imo

In his current form he can't be a toptier hard carry. His BAT is too low, his attack animation isn't good enough, and his ultimate, while hilarious when it works, is inconsistent and would remain inconsistent even in pro games. You see picks like Naga Siren in comp play even after her nerf because her ultimate is so consistent and can shape the fight. Skeleton King's ultimate requires him to die at the right time AND in the right place, when you dying isn't even in your control. A pro team will pick a carry SK apart. Let's not forget that his ultimate is worthless against anti-mage, who is very much a part of the top-tier carry list.

Also his mobility is garbage. No blink, no inherent high move speed, he's incredibly easy to kite.

Now if you want to see him in a trilane as an annoying as shit support...maybe. But the problem is he needs items to be at all relevant later, unlike Naga/Juggernaut who can throw in damage via Splash/Omnislash/Blade Fury and set up with Song of the Siren. The 20% nuke at level 2 on top of a stun makes for an easy kill in like a Lesh/Lina/Etc + Hardcarry of choice + Skeleton King, but that's true of Naga as well, and Abaddon can provide similar things (when he's in CM) and remain somewhat relevant later with support items.

In pubs in his current format he's fine. That 20% HP steal on top of a stun with a dedicated support with you means easy farm in the safelane.
