I actually think Dendi is the best all-around solo mid, and the rest of the team is very good but not the best. Navi plays well together partly due to them all being aggressive and feeding off of that from one another.

As someone else said, I really think Navi fucked up not giving funn1k Clinkz. Clinkz with an orchid absolutely obliterates Nature's Prophet, and funn1k is the best Clinkz player in the world I have seen hands down with it being his best hero as well. He can also make jungling a nightmare for a hero like Chen too, which they also banned constantly.

I also think Puppey is a mediocre drafter and it costs them in a lot of games. That g1 lineup was just awful against a team like Alliance and it wasnt even some pocket strat like they had vs Naga, it was just awful.

Mechanically Dendi is not the best, there is at least 2 or 3 that I feel would beat him, Mushi comes to mind.

Yea and its not everything. When the time comes for a player to make a play, Dendi would be where I put my money. He has amazing game sense I think of when to go on someone, when to run, when to fight and that is what I would rather have than being slightly better last hitting. Dendi is probably better at denying than anyone as well, which means he usually gets to important abilities first, which also helps delay the other teams mid in team fights, ganking etc.

He completely dominated that last game 5 too.

Well Matchmaking is as fun as I thought it was going to be Broken Prophet every game on the other team and Pudge that feeds on yours.

Yeah, but Mushi is fucking crazy good and has an enormous pool that he can play at a high level.
No argument there, and its no knock on Mushi at all. But it seems like pretty much outside of getting Bulldogged by NP, when Dendi has a hero he can make big plays with Navi almost always wins those games because he does just that.

I just had a revelation.

What if... what if the counter to Prophet split push... is Techies?

Prophet vs Techies in TI4 grand finals, you heard it here first, folks. I will cry myself to sleep that night.

If anything, (one of) the counter to Techies is prophet. Ranged hero with a way to destroy trees, a way to grant vision even on high ground and trash units to scout out/proxy kill stuff, yeah no.

The solution is clockwerk or stormspirit, with the addition of Naix is the draft allows. Still poses issues with Roshan, where even if the prophet dies, he buysback and TP to rosh instantly and they get it, but that's not that good of a trade anyway, it's only an issue if you don't kill him. Wisp too but that's hard to draft reliably.

TA completely dominates Puck in the laning phase on a hero basis, its the nature of the beast and is expected. Now if dendi dominated a TA as a puck that would have been incredible and something worth mentioning. Who made the game winning plays, TA or puck? TA dendi technicaly superior all game, Puck S4 better game sense.

Wouldn't blame dendi tho, had more to do with navi lacking team cohesion in that last game. If you look at the last deciding moments of the gmae you will realize when they initiate their push middle only half of them are carrying TP's to back. Dendi was going all out to finish, xboct and wisp were trying to get kills, batrider was intent on defending their base. They didn't establish a clear line of command on how to proceed while Alliance thinking they had lost the game decided to do a last ditch effort doing the only thing they could and sidepushing hoping that maybe Na'vi would take the bait with puck top and become disorganised. This is exactly what happened with xboct chasing and batrider TP'ing back to defend. If you rewatch the game with player pods, you will notice the moment xboct and batrider move off from pushing mid, dendi takes his hands off his keyboard and scratches his head for a few seconds realizing his team just lost the game for him right there.

Game was a navi victory if they pushed mid, but instead they panicked, had no clear line of command on what to do and everyone scattered. Worst moment in dota history to not have a clear plan of what you're trying to accomplish. There is no way Alliance would have been able to destroy 2 sets of rackses + towers and 2 towers + throne by the time all the navi time only had to kill 2 towers and thrones. To me, Alliance didnt win so much as navi lost it for themselves and let alliance win. I was actualy angry after that game because it's not like we saw 2 teams go toe to toe and had an epic duel that ended in one team besting the other, it was one team surviving and chipping away and baiting a team to lose and choke magnificently.. Orange did the exact same thing vs DK to lose a game where they decided to bypass rackses to get some kills, going as far as diving the well and DK came back and won a few moments later.

Just shows how important it is to have clear communications and even the best teams in the world in a time of crisis can completely crumble like na'vi did.

Even if techies can't ultimately stop Prophet, all he needs to do is slow him down. With the well on his side for mana regen, he can do that better than pretty much any support since clearing mines even from range is slow and dangerous work, particularly so if techies is rocking a force staff. That frees up your carry to go to town elsewhere on the map.

But you're right in that storm, clock, clinkz, etc. are better counters to him. Just stopping his pushes aren't enough, since it requires at least one of your farmed heroes to be in base at all times, leaving all engagements outside the base as highly dangerous 4-on-5s. The best way to stop him is to put him in the ground twice in six minutes or push the lanes out far enough that he can't realistically push your base before you're beating on his raxes.

Next year should be pretty epic. There are only 10 unreleased heroes left, so the game should be completely ported by the time TI4 rolls around. If Icefrog can get some of the newer/remade heroes into the CM pool, we should see some pretty amazing dota beyond anything we saw this year.

What if they put a global cooldown on teleports? Like how TP scrolls slow down when cast at the same time, maybe have it combined with TP scroll cool down too.

That would be such a gigantic nerf that it would probably make wisp useless. The whole point of wisp is that insane mobility, but I do agree that a hero having a 100% winrate over the course of a BO5, between the two teams, feels shitty.

Still on page 168 just woke up from the coma nap that was induced in the farm game.

Hopefully just now that I'm getting out of my coma, I'll start watching another coma inducing game again. You know why? Cuz I'm stupid. I'm not afraid of farm games. That's what I do.

I was excited this week to finally have moved up into the High bracket, but just now won a game with an AM who went Vanguard --> Eth Blade --> Vlad's --> SKADI. We all commended him for showing us this new build at the end
