I haven't really watched DOTA since last TI and I still find the Naga extremely boring. I turns a potential engagement into a "nope gunna song and leave" moment. It just stops the fun in it's tracks.

In the first game Naga was flat out unreal. There had to have been 4 or 5 different times Na'vi were in a fantastic spot to take an enormous fight... but nope. Naga's ability to stop a fight + AM running around the map looked damn good.

I like how production dressed the 3 Merlini's in nice pastel colors and Synderen gets the muted gunmetal.

Hot6 looked to be in great shape, then Sumail picked off like 4 people in a row, basically solo. Changed the entire game.

edit: Oh, and Naga was once again FILTHY.

I think Treant was the issue, their lineup lacked a good way to chip down the tower.

Is anyone else bored of the meta? Too many of the same heroes every game, last year at least until late in the tourney we got to see a much greater variety of heroes and play styles.

I am thinking this year it is the other way around with the seeding etc, ppl are holding pocket picks / new metas until its worth it (EG pulled it vs VC for game 2? So they could get the 3pts for the 2-0 win, iirc thats when they went enchant / treant).

Should really get interesting when you start getting to game 3s of the main event, or elimination games on the bottom bracket.

There have been a few good pocket picks, but no reason to show off something you have worked on for 3 months when you are in the group stage and could have 10 more days worth of games to go.

Anyway, yeah, super bored of the meta, all these kids dont know the hero pools that well imo, I think EG's? captain makes them play all random pretty often because of that.

You mean Razor/DP/Skywrath ?

There are like 4 heroes with close to 100% P/B, that's it. The games go anywhere from 4+1 farmfest to carefully executed timings. The amount of heroes that wait for their proper moment to be picked is enormous, almost no hero is unplayable.

I guarantee nobody has a pocket strat hidden for 3 months, the amount of high profile LANs before TI meant that if somebody had a strat they believed in, it was probably tested over there. Pulling out a strat you haven't played for ages for a final game of high stakes match is a good way to shoot yourself in a foot.

I like where the meta is at. It seems to be giving good games and and I feel like people are winning more because of skill and execution and not because they got out drafted. But I'm a fucking noob so I could be completely off about that.

Also leshrac, tusk, QoP, blood seeker and Lina have been shit tier ever since I started watching Dota 2 years ago so I'm not really sick of seeing them yet and glad they are getting picked. Also glad not to see jugg, ogre, bartrider, DP, doom, FV, and Lycan every fucking game.

Depends on who is your favorite team, but I think almost all the C9 games were brilliant/terrible

Don't really think there's anything wrong with this meta at all. You have your 5-6 heroes that are perma picked/banned, but a whole bunch of games have been a treat to watch. Also, my darkhorse Complexity is in the top 3? right now, so I can't complain.
