Cause I didn't know who had the lowest or biggest damage range, and was too lazy to check, out of the heroes I usually play I think Abaddon is the biggest. CK variance does sound awful as fuck though but I guess you last hit with the lower end with is pretty decent anyway. Anyway just goes to show that there is a lot to learn when you're last hitting with specific heroes, and it's vastly different from hero to hero. Last hitting with Zeus or Lina isn't quite the same as last hitting with Sniper or Gyro for example ^^. Oh and then you have Razor with the buggy animation. Looking forward to Techies last hitting too, dat 29-31 base dmg.
Practice mid last hitting with Cristal maiden. If you survive and dont kill yourself, everything else will now seem fun.

Practice with clinkz. Imo hardest animation to last hit with.
But he has a lot of damage. Drow for example is worse until 6, as are a bunch of supports due to having both low dmg and shitty attack. CM damage is low as fuck but her attack point, while terrible, is still noticeably better than Lina. Funny enough the heroes I have the most trouble with are Sniper and Gyro, because I'm so not used to having "instant" projectiles, so I always hit too early. I guess it's not different than melees but the combination of being ranged but having almost no delay makes it weird for me. Granted, only time I played sniper was for the tutorial shit and I played Gyro like once in the past year, for the TI3 compendium match to get my smeevil treat for the courier.

Anyway for the most part carries have good animations and/or good damage so they're not terribly hard to last hit with especially if you go quelling blade or just poor man shield. Still some of them are fairly peculiar.

what, clinkz is easy as hell to last hit with ;x And to win your lane cause the orb attack doesnt draw creep aggro so you can harass the fuckers till they run out crying to their mommies.

Drow is rough, she has such a wind up time on her cast. I have trouble with visage too, his projectile is like a damn change-up pitch.

Well obviously the orb makes it easier. But we were talking no items and no skill ups. I forgot about drow, that's another good one. Invoker also has really low base damage.

Been playing online for the first time the last few days with Rethan# and others in the RR.org group and have learned at least two things:

1) I am abysmally horrible at this game online against other humans. Playing the Hard / Unfair bots really gave me a false sense of ability and knowledge that hasn't translated at all in our matches. I only hope that stuff comes more naturally and instinctively the more we practice. Not so I can be good, just so that I'm at least not terribad

2) Rethan must be a saint (or just likes trolling low tier matches). He doesn't complain when the match is going horribly because we're matched up against a stack with better players. He explains when to use abilities and how to coordinate the team fights. It is great to have someone like him available to learn with and not get constantly spoken down to while trying to overcome the learning curve.

Thanks Reth!

It really is a lot more fun playing games with him. His game sense teaches you things you wouldn't learn playing in 5 man randoms.

ill second this, big reth is always a great help.

your play will improve over time, it will be more instinctive you will start to think about item builds based on what other heros you are up against, not just going by the pre set builds valve has, same goes for skill builds, playing with reth is great its like always having a mentor even though you might get dragged into games slightly above your head skill wise with him its worth the beating.

Also when we can yield a full 5 stack it raises the level of enjoyment by about 1000x just knowing that the people on your team are going to follow directions and coordinate with eachother is something you dont get in a pub game its a weird feeling, we need to get inhouses going we got like 300 members and always like 15-20 in the channel.

Just wanted to chime in and say thank you as well. Reth im convinced you have more patience than most saints. most of this community is pretty awesome about having the patience to answer noob questions
smile.png
so I tried using clinkz in a bot game to work last hitting and pennence, that was both awesome advice and cruel... his animation is horrible lol took me 5 minutes just to start to figure it out

Haha. My friend plays a lot of Clinkz and is horrible with last hitting. It usually takes him like 27-30 minutes to get his orchid if he hasn't gotten any kills. It's a real SMH kind of thing hehe. Maybe he should follow your plan and practice in bot games

If you guys see me online on steam but not in DOTA2 and are stacking send me a chat. I like playing the game but despise getting yelled at online. I usually play the 2, Clinkz, mid or feed.

Its a guild for RR. Ask pretty much any RR person on Steam that plays DOTA2 they're probably in it and can shoot you an invite.

Yes, Rethan has been awesome and having some people to group with is a big plus. I would gather half my losses are just from people that are amazingly worse than me at this game.

Game is hard, just try to honestly learn one thing at a time, or take away one thing at a time from every game. I've enjoyed playing with you guys, every once in a while we get a team fight that actually looks pretty close to what you would want out of it. I l really enjoy dota, so I like the opportunity to help people see what the hell is so addicting about it, everyone sucked at this game at some point.

I only get invites when I'm logging off for the day and then get accosted because people think I'm too good to play with them.
