Help me understand what the point of him 'being in here' is, then. Is it for punishment and isolation? If so, I suppose I've misunderstood. I was under the impression it was to protect the integrity of the #GamerGate thread.
If the real motivation is exclusion, man up and suspend him or stfu.

I would say the hope is that yes, he stops shitting up threads with his posts and goes back to trying to have actual conversations with people. Now, you are having an alright one with him, but the minute he hits that thread he will immediately go back into AnitaWhiteKnight/Wu "everything is caused by the pushback against absurdity and if we would all just get back in our corners and let them tell us what games we can have, it will be fine" mode.

I mean, Tanoomba has it in him to be someone that actually is constructive in conversations. He used to be one of my favorite posters, even if I disagreed with alot of his stuff. After ever big thread where he got beat up though, he turned to more and more of a "just a devils advocate trying not to take any actual position, lets retread arguments and try to be completely pedantic".

Tanoomba has spent the better part of a year burning bridges on this website, shitting up that thread with endlessly repetitive arguments that he resets on a daily basis. You even recognized this fact several pages ago, yet have insisted on continuing to assist him in spreading his shit posting circular argument bullshit to here. Tuco was sick of being harassed about it by people, and didn't want to read the thread to have to make a decision on the matter, and made me a mod to put an end to it. I've attempted to correct his behavior by isolating him to the shaw.
I'm not going to ban him unless Tuco says to. I figure if Tuco wants him banned, Tuco can swing that sword himself. Clearly Tuco believes Tanoomba being confined to the shaw for extended periods of time might improve his posting habits, hence why Tanoomba hasn't been banned yet. So don't give me this "man up" bullshit. I did suspend him. Being confined to the shaw for a solid month is a suspension around here. What you're telling me to do is ban him, and I'm not going to do that, unless Tuco wants it done. You're the one who has decided to undermine the suspension by engaging him in the exact way he wants, for the past ten pages and like 5 days. That's not on me, that's on you.

I thought I was having a discussion with the guy that was pretty productive, and would be welcome in most threads on the forum. I think it was a back-and-forth representative of what should ideally go on here. The difference is, there isn't someone popping in every 7 posts calling him a retard and provoking him. If this is truly supposed to be 'rehabilitation', shouldn't my calm and reasonable discussions with him be welcome? 'This is how you should conduct yourself in the rest of the board'? To the rest of the board, 'this is how you engage with Tanoomba without him lashing out at you'. It's not like we are shitting up a thread that means anything... It's the fucking shaw.
Do you have an interest in improving Tanoomba's posting patterns, or are you just administering the strap with no goal but to inflict pain? If it's the latter, stop pretending and remove him from the community. I'm sure he'd prefer that anyway.
