That combat looks like grade A horse shit. Making it that much worse, its played by someone that cant fucking play worth a fuck. Characters are wearing rags and looking basic as fuck, so I know this is the beginning of the game. But all that does is solidify that the combat "IS" ass. Why? Because at level fucking 1, the PC is already doing spin moves, repels and disengages like he's fucking Legolas. Where do they go from there? Just +1 all the way to end game. /yawn
I do wonder if black people even notice that theyre being pandered to, though. "Ok, create the most generic looking black person you can. Not a light skin dude. Midnight black, and play that as the lead character so we can get our diversity check marks from our lenders."

Should play Stellar Blade, it has far better eye candy, and everything else quite good.You two convinced me. That was kinda what made me nope out of Valheim. I was getting my ass beat by blue giants because block did basically nothing. Then I watch a friend roll around on the ground like a dog and beat them easily.
If blocking is an option I'm in!

That was the biggest thing I noticed. Even if the rest of the game somehow didn't turn out to be a woke-filled DEI fest for a modern audience, the actual gameplay looked fucking terrible. People were joking about it being a mobile game, but that's exactly what it looks like.

IDK, the Souls games are all kinda boring to me. Demon's Souls remake was the only one I liked, and most people consider that one of the worst? Maybe it's because I'm an FPS snob and none of these games run at >60FPS.

The gameplay doesn't move the needle for me, at all. Everything looks generic and wooden. There are also little things that scream rushed or changed mid-creation.
It's also clear that the dialogue and narrative are going to be lame and forgettable.
At least now I can stop holding on to my sliver of hope and allow this to completely drop off my radar.

This is the reaction a friend of mine had who doesn't post or follow forums. He said it looks very medicore, even if better than expected.
Just because the bar was set low for Veilguard doesn't make it a buy.

got around to watching the gameplay trailer.
my first thoughts were the silliness of the npcs 1 shotting all those demons. which you know, won't happen as soon as actual combat starts.
the same dissonance goes right into this new character. why in the world would the champions of the realm turn to this random dude to save the world?
As for combat. looks pretty identical to Inquisition.
we need to see the active commands u.i. and the a.i. programming options.
the npc voice actress barks are pretty bad.
I hate Neve already. also, bad acting.

To be fair if you're gonna have romance I think making most chars romanceable by anyone is fine. It sucks when I have to romance shitty chars because of the gender I selected. The fact they're focusing on the sex scenes in the interview looks like they kinda skip the whole "romance" part and are just looking to make kink based soft porn shit instead though. Not very good soft porn either judging from the quality of the combat gameplay.

They added some spice, but it wasn't anything to market. The bearfucking or whatever was what grabbed viral attention.
