Probably some cope that BG3 was as successful as it was because it supported multiplayer. I'm sure that helped, but that was just a cherry on an already delicious sundae.

People will ignore/overlook/forgive whatever the few(ish?) woke elements of a game like BG3 because its a great game, and it doesn't seem like the whole point of it is as a vehicle for an ideological agenda. DA:VG is the worst of all worlds: It's a terrible-to-mediocre game that disregards its IP/genre history without any redeeming qualities, whose production seems to have focused on all the wrong things, i.e. their agenda, rather than the game play. For dyed in the wool zealots though, that seems to be all that matters; that you be double gay/trans/have zipper tit scars outweighs how the combat is.

That's why the Iron law of get Woke, go broke never fails: For these radicals, the "woke" part is all that matters", rather than any of the other things actually matters to paying customers.

As if BG1 and BG2 2+ decades ago weren't? Hell, I've only ever completed ALL of the BGs as multiplayer experiences. Total cope.

They were multi for sure. I only did BG1 & 2 and the icewind dales in multiplayer.

Planescape Torment was pure single player (and the best of the lot).

Oh, weird. Just looked it up, and yea, they had it as an option. Sounds kinda shitty, where only the host was the main PC and could progress the game.

I had MMOs for the online experience, so probably dismissed it out of hand.

Yet another month in which the cancellation of PS+ continues to be the correct choice. Sony is on a roll there, at this point I can't even remember the last time they added something I would actually want to play.

I had almost forgot until I saw this thread bumped - Corinne Busche, the tranny Game Director for Dragon Age Veilguard moved to Skeleton Key Studio. The small company, working on one game. News came out yesterday that Skeleton Key Studio cancelled their game and they are laying off a ton of people.

Now heres the question: Did Corinne Busche come into a failed project because thats all he could get? Or, playing devils advocate - does he have the kind of power at that studio to cancel that project and restructure the team to be more "inclusive"? Only time will tell.

Studio was almost certainly a full on trainwreck. imagine starting a dev studio, and thinking "studio mission" and "culture" are the most important things to put on your website.

Making a lot of assumptions based on what little information has been leaked so far. We only knew about the project that got cancelled but there may be others. I haven't seen much about how big or small the studio was but if they were building a brand new physical location in Austin rather than just renting an existing space then they can't have been intended to be too small. Also I never saw Wizards even actually acknowledge that they hired Busche so who knows if it was put on the abruptly cancelled project that already had a game director type or if it was put there to get Baldur's Gate 4 started.

Yeah, I'd say them hiring Busche and then cancelling some horror game makes me more concerned about that degenerate getting ahold of BG4 rather than less.

Cowbunga collection is really bad ass. If you have friends over or a son, trust me alot of fun.

But yeah massive fail WTF Dragon age geeze thanks..

I have tier 3 but I think extra also got some good games this month in the PS catalog so there is that. The Catalog is getting immensely better.
