My biggest problem with Miss One Name is she cannot act for shit. She was fucking AWFUL as Mary Jane and played the character completely counter to the source material. Thats not even getting into the entire war on gingers shit (see all Harkonnen in this movie too, while we are at it). I can like the work of an actor or actress even if I don't like their social views. This is about a complete lack of skill and her being pimped up as something and shitting on source material as a result. She was virtually completely opposite of the comic book sourced MJ character and she was ridiculously out of place in this movie. And whats worse is the wokesters have been talking about giving her a larger role in the story since before this movie even came out (and Chani is mostly a fucking footnote until Children of Dune, anyhow) so we get to see more of her zoomer derp face acting in the follow up.
I do not understand her appeal at all and there are about a half dozen other far more capable actresses who could have done a way better job. Mamoa is not a great actor by any stretch either, but he looked the part (Duncan is actually supposed to be one of the universe's greatest ass kickers) and did a servicable job. Z-Bitch just shows up to collect a paycheck and all the zoomer soy boys jizz themselves at her phoning it in for some reason. She was the worst part of an otherwise solid movie.
And on the general topic of palette swaps, Chani is supposed to be the daughter of Leit-Kynes who in the books is an older wisened half imperial dude who had been on Arakis for decades. Nothing about the woman who played the character here suggests any of the source material (though the actress herself was ok), much less being the mother of zoomer Chani. They just went out and found the darkest Wakandan woman they could get to score virtue points. It was fucking jarring to me, as I was a fan of the character in the original book and of Max Von Sydow's portrayal of him in the Lynch movie.

Yeah since fantasy stories are supposed to be set in medieval England having a bunch of different races there doesn't make much sense but if you're letting that ruin the story for you it's on you in my opinion. If that black hobbit is making speeches about white supremacy then you have a point.

Black Bond is about the only one I wouldn’t really care about because Elba is a good actor and they constantly change who Bond is anyways.
Diversity hobbits and wheel of time is ridiculous though. Those communities in both stories were very isolated and all looked very similar because of it, just like what happens in real world. It was a part of the story itself in WoT.

I get his point. Morgan Freeman as God was fine, because his personality fit the bill and he was the right actor for it. Race didn't matter.
We no longer live in that world, where the story comes first. I want to watch movies from good storytellers, not propagandists. That is the part I don't enjoy. The obvious propaganda, be it visual or as dialog.

Bond as a character has some very strong traits, more so than many characters in movies. In my view, Idris aligns with those traits perfectly. His color means fuck all to me.
The reason we're even talking about this right now is because I said that was the ONLY other instance of this occurring where race-swapping didn't bother me, and it's because I can see how his personality aligns with the character of Bond, while I don't see his skin color detracting from it at all. In other cases, like Idris as Heimdall, there's a mental hurdle to get over by having a black man in the Norse Pantheon and the insult of it being blatant race swapping for the sake of diversity alone. He is a perfect fit for Bond, more so than any other actor I've seen under consideration. Not so for Heimdall.
To be honest, I'm just as tired of people like you acting like pureblood cunts as I am with the one-sided diversity push in general. I think it's perfectly understandable that some people take issue with the fact that hollywood had a long history of whitewashing roles. I think it's reasonable for those people to want to see more representation in movies nowadays. In general, I think that should be done with new characters or stories that haven't been told yet, as opposed to the direct insult of replacing existing characters with non-white actors with the apparent INTENTION of a direct insult. And I think that this should only be done when it doesn't cause constant mental hurdles that interfere with the story being told. Walking through this thought process internally should prompt most adults to consider "Can I think of any examples where it doesn't bug me? Are there instances where the actor's skin color is actually relevant to the role and replacing the actor with a black person would actually align better with the role, as opposed to just being 'for the sake of diversity' alone?" That is the thought process that leads me to thinking that Idris would be a badass Bond because Bond being white means fuckall to me. Idris checks all the important boxes for Bond. That is the thought process that leads me to thinking that some Durka fits the part of a Space Durka better than a snow-white ginger.
I'll argue the Bond point into the fucking ground because I've spent a lot of time thinking about that one and I'm more familiar with both the character and the actor in that one. As far as Dune and Chani goes, I'm offering that one up more as an observation because I have no attachment to the source material at all and I don't know shit about the actress. The entire pivot of my argument on that one can really be boiled down to the fact that the Fremen seem like space goat fuckers and the actress looks like a goat fucker, so it makes sense to me.
Also, it's weird you think I'd fantasize about BBC while watching black bond. Do you ever think about Daniel Craig's cock while you're watching Bond? I think about how it would be fun to spend an evening playing poker, throwing commies out of helicopters, playing with gadgets and fucking floozies while 15 of my coworkers watch it over a satellite feed. It's fun to watch Daniel Craig do it. I think it'd be fun to watch Idris Elba do it.

It's been a long time since I read the books but the basic gist is:
Atreides are descended from the Greek and in theory trace their line back to Agamemnon.
Harkonnen are believed to be Finnish/Northern European based on names and whatnot.
Fremen and House Corrino (the emperor) are both vaguely middle eastern. I think the books allude to the early Fremen being a lower slave class for Corrino that split once they started their own culture on Arrakis. IIRC, Corrino were originally House Butler that the Butlerian Jihad was named after and changed their name after the Battle of Corrin.

Here is a neat idea. Try it, I know its crazy, but go with me. If you think Idris Elba is so great perhaps there is a story about a black character they could cast him in.
