I'm a sensitive little snowflake with the one-way color swapping in general, but Chani doesn't bother me at all. I don't have any attachment to the books or the original, I don't know anything about the actress (and am intentionally avoiding it, you fucks) and it definitely seems like the Fremen were meant to be Brown Sandies. Only other instance I can think of where this shit doesn't bug me (assuming I'm aware it happened) was the talk about Idris Elba being the new Bond, since I think that just requires someone with big-dick swagger and style.

I don’t know who the fuck she is or what she does that pisses people off, and really don’t care. She didn’t do much in this movie so I can’t say she bothered me any. Liet Kynes was far worse.

Look here you little shits. I personally have no problem with Zendaya as Mary Jane. Zendaya fits being casted as a zoomer in a US high school in 2020.

But when she uses her US zoomer accent while performing as a tribal member of a foreign planet 8000 years into the future then maybe she was miscast.

Stop feigning ignorance about the points that some people may have.

Could care less about that, plenty of stage name actors and musicians, whatever. The women’s rights, BLM activist, marching with Michele Obama, her stupid ever present half smirk, and zoomer snarky/sarcastic talk are all horrible though. She stood out to me in this movie, due to her smirk and talking/accent. She didn’t ruin the movie or anything but I would have preferred a no name who could act over her. She played a snarky zoomer well in spider man because that’s her schtick. It didn’t fit in this movie.

Yea this was fucking infuriating. Part 1 isn't good enough to be a feature film. There is no ending, they just stop halfway through, turn in for the rest in 2 years. Fuck that.
