I have tried audiobooks so many times, but unless I am focused on what I am hearing I lose track of it. If I am gonna have to focus on it, I would rather read. I am also a fast reader, so I am the same.I don't do audio books. Just not my thing. Paper and imagination. I read a lot faster than anyone could ever speak.
Thought of this book when I saw this, lol.
The end of book five was hilarious in the audiobook, when she’s singing Wonderwall about Mongo. Wouldn’t have been nearly as funny had I been reading that part.
I remember an interview with Matt Dinniman where he claimed he doesn't plan anything out, just kinda sprinkles in powerful abilities and items and rules and has a list or something that he references when he needs shit to happen. I thought this was pretty insightful since whenever he introduces some new silly ability I assumed he had an idea of how it'd be used.I am supremely impressed with his planning, I'm not sure how he managed it.
Glurp Glurp Motherfucker.Finished Book 7, A+++
That’s interesting. It probably explains why I don’t have a problem when he solves some problem in a ridiculous way. Unlike Brandon Sanderson who sets things up from the very beginning and it’s overly obvious that what he’s setting up will specifically solve whatever problem he presents later in the book. Dinniman just throws so much random shit out there and most of it doesn’t even matter or come up again. But he threw enough random shit out there that when he picks one or two things to use to solve a problem it seems more natural than what Sanderson does.I remember an interview with Matt Dinniman where he claimed he doesn't plan anything out, just kinda sprinkles in powerful abilities and items and rules and has a list or something that he references when he needs shit to happen. for example the whatever puppet he used when he went to a temple and fought the bug headed god guy. I can't remember the name but that was a case where he pulled out a clutch move on a silly ability
It really feels like he's DM'ing and just improvising to keep up with the players.That’s interesting. It probably explains why I don’t have a problem when he solves some problem in a ridiculous way.
