I once dated a girl who told me she was a "one-finger girl" on the first date, and I was like yeah right, and then later I found out it was true because she hadn't had a boyfriend in almost four years and did a lot of kegels. God Bless America

So let's bring this back to Elden Ring - If you PVP'd that one finger girl did you have a bloody finger?

YEP! I JUST POSTED WHAT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU TWISTED FOLKS WERE THINKING.

Don't shoot the messenger.

With the amount of options this game offers you really should get free respecs after beating the game so you can actually test shit out.

Yeah I agree. I had no less than 8 or 9 respec fetuses (or whatever they are) after I beat the game, and I think I've used up half of them already trying different builds and that's with me playing sporadically / switching builds minimally. It should just be unlimited.

Hitting Gelmir Hero's Grave now and the chariots are some BS. Apparently the very first area (if you return to it via the towers on that hill) also has chariots in it and there's more to it. I already used up the key for that on a different tower though.

No idea if the gelmir hero grave has something similar

You can destroy chariots in that one and the one right by the tutorial exit. You can't destroy Gelmir's because you're supposed to ride the last one through the lava (which is optional anyway; it's super easy to complete that dungeon with minimal chariot dodging if you follow the path to get all the hidden items).

Well, I got to step 2 of “Starting out” before he got to something I hadn’t done
Seriously, I read up to stormveil where he says you can now safely do stormveil without breaking anything. I’m pretty sure I did not do steps 2 through 9 until way after stormveil. Like you said I never even did step 2 and I’m like 75 hours played lol

I had over 100 hours in when I got the plat trophy and wasn’t invaded by a PC once. I did help a few people who got invaded (via the ring that automatically summons you to help people that got invaded). Not sure if I did something wrong or didn’t enable something that allowed me to be invaded or wat.

gotta pop on the liar's tongue or have a co-op.

There are TONS of co-op people. This time now is the high point, constant back to back invasions. Go get in there, spice it up for the duo+ crews.

Oh, for that one I just jumped down in the lava. It led to the boss door not far after. Didn’t know you could ride them

2nd play through and i've found two catacombs, two caves, and two bosses I never fought before, and I'm at the start of altus after killing Rennala, and thats all without using the map/wiki.

Lol I didn’t actually watch it, just scrolled to the end to make sure it actually showed the destruction. I did that whole thing just dodging him, never even thought about destroying it

Just knocked off the Gelmir Hero's Tomb. Was easier than I thought, just go in the lava to the end and the boss door is shortly after the drop-down. Level 217 here, climbing towards my 255 goal while I look for whatever scraps are left in NG that I missed. I should probably just start NG+ already...

This is my first ever Souls type game. What do I do? Just run around and explore and seemingly die to like 90% of enemies? Lol.

Also went Vagabond and just focusing melee type stats, how easy is it to gimp yourself?

You can respec. And lots of ways to be badass. You can follow game advice in game or just get word of mouth tips. Or bang your head into random shit. All work

I feel bad because I convinced a friend of mine to get this and the souls series never really clicked for him. He did get Bloodborne but I think he hit a wall at Father G.

The good thing is his Bro In Law is also playing it, and making decent progress, so Im hoping he sees how good it can be. He now claims he is just finishing Metroid Prime and then focusing on ER, just hope I didn't steer him wrong due to my obsession.

That said, it really is a game that will grow on you once you get past the initial "growing pains". It never really holds your hand, but at the same time it does get easier overall once you get some levels and experience under your belt.

My new plan is to stay mostly blind for my first STR playthrough and then replay it with looking up the 1836362636 things I missed along the way.

If not sure what you want go 18 strength 22 dex and then the rest into vigor.

There is a respec in this game so don’t worry about gimping yourself. When you get any new weapon with a new special attack, equip it and try it. There are a lot of different weapon skills in the game and some do some pretty cool stuff, some will “click” with you and you’ll learn to kick ass with it. There are guides out there if you want to know what to do but basically you should just explore and find areas where you can kill some shit. If you get stuck on something go explore some more. You’ll find tons of new weapons, armors, areas you can do.

Hopefully he comes around like I did.

Confession time: I bought Demon's Souls back in the day for PS3. I never died so much in my life, the game frustrated me, I don't think I killed more than one boss. I put the game away, thinking I would never play it again. Then Dark Souls came out, and based on word of mouth I decided to give it a try even though Demon's Souls frustrated me so. I can still remember that feeling of joy/relief climbing down that first ladder to open the shortcut back to the bonfire. It really was a revelation, and I've been hooked ever since then.

Today, this series is my favorite genre, I even enjoy the knock-offs like The Surge and Remnant. Up to this point I would have said Bloodborne was the best of the bunch, but now Elden Ring is clearly at the top of the heap.
