Anyone know offhand what dungeon it is that has the lava ramps and the chariots? I think that's the only dungeon I found in the game that I didn't go back and finish, so I have to do that.

Watched a boss list and the only one I didn't recognize was a pair of those giant spinning mech things, so I'm wondering if that's in the lava/chariot dungeon? If not, where they at?

I've scoured the maps and compared them to mine and I think I've been everywhere, so I likely already have fast travel points to these things if I knew where they were.

Avoiding spoilers is kind of fucking me up on some of these quests. I never ran into Blaidd prior to starting the Ranni quest, so I never saw him up on the wall in the Mistwood. Never got the gesture to get him down. I'm guessing you lose all that if you kill Radahn before doing any of it.

Crypt after? You mean the War-Dead Catacombs? If so, it's pretty rough yeah, and the boss is a fucker. Finally got it cleared on Sunday, felt good. I think Caelid is cleared out now, other than the dragon on the bridge.
Yeah, I ran into that crypt after killing Radahn and was "This is gonna' have to wait...."

I don't think that part matters?

Because doing that you only miss out on a Somber[1] stone. After he gives it to you he fucks off to Siofra via Ranni.

I'm guessing I've missed a lot of little things like that. Will probably go back for Platinum trophy and try and see everything in a second run.

I hate that fucking Gelmir Hero dungeon. I died in there for an hour and after one too many bullshit deaths I just slapped a marker on it and went elsewhere before I threw my controller through my TV.

My kid was watching and even he was like “Only one hit kills you? That’s not fair!”

It actually was a good example because he cries when he gets frustrated in a game. I got to say “see how I’m not crying? I’m just taking a break instead” even though I was crying on the inside.

So what the fuck is the Frenzied Flame exactly? Since the symbol for it is the 3 fingers as opposed to the 2 fingers and it creates madness all I got out of it is that it is Chaos or something. While the 2 fingers represents the Order of the Erdtree. Like the priest in Roundtable tells you.

Treid that - I am looking for other ways to cheese the thing. :) Looks like the outcrop ledge helps but I was then pummeled by purple spike shit over there too.

I think someone messed up a 0 on his HPO - turns out he has 12k HP and I have a longsword +16 that does about 1/32nd damage to him everytime I hit him. Also tried poison - which attaches fairly quickly but maybe whittles him down about an extra 3% through it's cycle. Then half way he goes fully ape shit - most I have had him down to is 25% and I really suck at wars of attrribition and patience :p Which is maybe what I should try next. 1-2 hits, run. for 15 minutes....

This was one of the top 3 boss death amounts for me as well. I ended up going Monster Hunter style on him with greatshield and lance while summoning Latenna ash spirit at the highest spot to snipe it while i tanked.

The other 2 most deaths were to the crucible knight gaol since i suck at parry and was pretty low level, and...a stupid non-boss magical wolf in the southwestern liurnia area that opens up for Ranni's quest. I didn't even need to kill it but I thought it might be a wise beast or something to open the tower near it. I died like 15 times using sword of night and flame build because it was too slow and sucked for mounted combat.

It makes sense to me. Two fingers is fine, three fingers and she gets mad.

Yea the traditional Fromsoft formula for quests/NPCs really shows it's weak points here sometimes. It sort of worked in the Dark Souls games because they were highly linear and you could be reasonably expected to cross paths with NPCs in a relatively particular order, but that just doesn't apply at all here anymore. The overworld being so fucking huge makes it a nightmare to find, or hell even notice NPCs. I didn't even know the shabriri grape chick existed my first playthrough cause she's just randomly standing near-ish to a grace and got lost in the background as I ran through.
Yeah this. I get the vagueness in the regular souls games, you’ll eventually run across everyone, do things in correct order…this game is just way too fucking big for that to work properly. It’s just confusing and frustrating at times. It’s my only real complaint about the game.

Isn’t the 2 finger order and 3 finger order just two separate factions?

That’s one frustrating thing with this game and From games in general. It’s ridiculously hard to know why anything is happening. Friend was trying some dual boss at redmane, getting stuck. I told him to go check out the capitol city for a bit so he did. Comes back and those bosses are now gone. Why? Who fuckin knows! I never even saw those bosses, why? Who fuckin knows!

The lack of any sort of simple journal and any idea of what quests are happening can be frustrating. I prefer the vagueness over a billion quest markers, I definitely don’t want that. Just a journal where some snippets from quests would be nice to give you an idea of all the shit you’re actually working on, cause right now I have no idea. The only quests I’ve actually figured out were quests were very direct, like the guy who tells you to use the item he gave you. The guy who tells you to give this potion to someone, etc.

The only way I’m ever going to know how to properly get through quests in this game is to look everything up online after the first play through.

You can spawn the dual bosses in Redmane by talking to the caster-looking dude in the tower until he says he's moving on, then warp back to the grace point. Suddenly the room that the NPCs were gathered in will have a fog door on it and you can fight the dual bosses. They drop a legendary weapon that goes towards the platinum. I also missed them until like, endgame because they weren't there when I first got there, the festival was already going.

Ok but this is my point. How the fuck would I ever figure that out on my own? Lol.

Went to farm some rune arcs from rats in the Earth cave, with 110 discovery and the silver fowl buff. 45 minutes later and I had like...3. I wanted to get to 5 or 10 but I couldn't stand it anymore and quit out. I thought rats dropped them like candy, what gives?

On the flipside I don't really need rune arcs at this point since the game is beaten, and I'm sure I can get a ton more in NG+. If I'm gonna farm anything it should be exp, and tracking down more sacred tears and memory stones.
Fast travel removes the silver fowl buff and farming feet is almost as bad as farming arcs so you need a spot where you can run back to the grace and rest without it wasting too much time. The place to go is the rampart gaol grace in Castle Morne. Run around the corner into the building, use an AE to kill the 4 rats. If you see purple loot, grab it, if not run back to the grace. Also, you really need the silver scarab to make it worthwhile. Wear the silver tear mask for small increase from the +8 arcane, Marika's Soreseal for another 5, and make sure you have the +5 to all great rune activated. I have about 250 item discovery with all the buffs and gear, zero points actually spent in arcane.

I only farmed it for a short while to test because there's like 70+ arcs just laying around the world and at vendors and I already had 60 in my inventory, but I was averaging a bit less than 1 arc per minute.

Also, any tips for Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast? This trash mob is harder than Radahn for God's sake.

Use a summon
Stay on your horse
Don't fall off cliff

I actually had an easier time with him than the Fallingstar Beast in the mines. In the mines, the room you are fighting in is so small it was a lot harder avoiding his attacks. On the giant crater, I just ran in and out on my horse taking a few swipes at a time, and never got gravity slammed by him once.

ER makes this really difficult because of how interconnected all the NPCs / quests / areas apparently are. It'd be one thing if you had an NPC asking you to do some unknowable bullshit that you forgot about and later on found his name in a list and circled back to pursue his quest, but making it so that NPC is not only disinterested in doing a quest with you, but is also dead makes things much harder to play a mysterious game.
