I've got 80 Int and 80 Dex and the MLGS wrecks. It also has Str scaling and I have 16 Str, is it worth it to start raising that up to add more attack power to MLGS, or should I focus on Vigor (which is 50 IIRC) in NG+?

Vigor doesn't really scale great over 50 and at 50 you still need almost two health pots to heal to full. You can pump some endurance if you want to upgrade to a great shield over the brass

New patch has turned sorcerers into gatling guns. Sheeeeeeesh
I started my first caster Saturday and was surprised how much easier the game was at low level. I’m surprised they buffed casting, I don’t think it needed it at the low end.

When you use the MLGS do you all use spells/staff too or just the sword? Seems like the total opposite of my current setup but might be fun to try.

Also tried to get the equipment load talisman from the jar with 3 invasions. They straight up deleted me. At least some of the guys attacking, got one down out of three at best. Seems out of reach, I know you can exploit it but I usually die before I can set that up :p

You can do either or, which makes it great since it can be versatile. I pair it up with the carian greatsword phalanx which helps build up stagger, and then you can use lorettas longbow comet/shards if you want to snipe/range stuff

I think it's gonna be pretty wild in PvP. I already can't dodge all of their stuff, now it's gonna come out faster...

Nice, they buffed my new weapon of choice just in time for me to use it in NG+.

How do you get to Mohg palace in the first hour?

It was one of the last places I found and I thought it was probably locked behind other things, like sewer Mohg, but apparently not.

I need to book it over there in NG+ so I can get the Moonlight Greatsword to +10.
After you beat Godrick, Varre will move to rose church in liurnia. After you complete his quest to invade 3 people (dont have to win) he gives you an item that ports you there

Yeah, I'm definitely over-leveled. Was able to kill the Godskin Duo fairly quickly, probably 10-15 attempts, though I did get pretty lucky with the fat ine leaving me alone a few times.

Parrying certainly helped but the timing is very odd with the different attacks. Guess now I get to see how bad the last couple bosses are and call it done, definitely plan to start fresh with a different build before NG+

What a fucking great game, I'm sure I missed a ton too, but I'll probably follow a guide for the next playthrough.

I think first you have to drench the thing in maiden blood? Where do you find the maiden?
I forgot about that. Where Fogel said, you can also go back to the starting church via 4 belfries or kill Irina. I always just went back to the first church via belfries since you need to do that anyways for Nepheli

Anyone got a good mid level block build not using fingerprint shield?

I’ve been interested in some of the Templar stuff I see floating around, but I’m still enjoying the bloodhound fang a lot.

shit. i can't remember what it 's called but there's an oval shield, i think dropped by the headless men? or maybe the big guards around the plateu. it's literally the highest block you get before fingerprint / furnace shield. (Golden greatshield: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Golden+Greatshield)

So that shield is good at some stats, but some other shields are 'better' at once specifc element. you can swap them out for specific bosses.

there isn't really a real progression of shields. the godrick camp leader you get to right after getting your maiden drops a shield htat's like 2 blockydoos worse than that oval shield i talked about. and all the other shields are on par with the oval. after that you have to use the heavy ass fingerprint or heavy ass furnace. that's the whole game in shields for you.

Soft cap is 40, so you definitely benefit from raising you STR up to about that level. I personally would have gone like 40 STR and 60 DEX, but at this point unless you are gonna respec for another reason I would just start adding pts to STR.

Yeah, I've got 38 End so I'm gonna get that to 40, then start getting Str up from 16 to as high as I can get it. Don't have anything else to get now.

Unless...

Does Arcane affect frost damage? Cause MLGS is doing some decent frost procs fairly regularly.

In other news, it's so annoying how the blue protector summon puts you like a mile away from the actual person being invaded, while their invader spawns right near them. In the time it takes me to figure out where the hell I am and how to get to them, one of them always dies. So either A) It doesn't give me a chance to actually help and the host is ded, or B) I just get a Rune Arc for doing nothing, essentially. Just pointless, aside from RAs being nice.

NG+ update: Finally started. Ran with Moonveil at first, then double Moonveils, then Wing of Astel for a bit, then MLGS which I'm gonna stick with now.

Beat the starting zone boss, then Magma Wyrm for Moonveil, Castle Morne boss, Margit, Godrick, Loretta, Tree Sentinel, and Rennala. Also took out gaol bosses every time I saw one. Nothing has been remotely as hard as in NG, either because I'm overleveled, or because I'm just better, IDK.

There's one exception: Rennala. Much harder than in NG, took me 3 tries. It was GREAT. In the first run, I went there way overleveled since I missed Raya Lucaria for so long, and the fight was easy. This time it felt like a Bloodborne match. Was an awesome time. I'm glad I got to experience that fight more like it was intended.

Looks like NG+ enemy stats catch up to NG endgame somewhere between Godrick and Rennala.

Only things I have left for the platinum are Frenzied Flame ending and Lichdragon Fortissax. Anything I need to look out for so I don't mess those up? I think the Lichdragon is part of a questline so I'll have to be sure I do whatever that is, while the ending is just like...go through a door after Mohg in the sewers, so that one should be easy enough if I'm understanding it right.

After killing Mohg in the sewers and Morgott in Lyendell Royal Capital, proceed through the will/altar behind Mohg, do the platforming stuff to get to the site of grace at the bottom, then take off all of your armor and walk through the door. Now, beat the game, but do NOT use Miquella's Needle that you get from the end of Millicent's questline (if you choose to do it).

After obtaining two great runes or getting to Altus Pleateu for the first time, let Fia hold you in Roundtable Hold and exhaust all of her dialogue. Give the item she gives you to D (also in Roundtable Hold), then reload the area. You will find Fia in a newly opened wing of Roundtable Hold. Exhaust her dialogue, then go to Deeproot Deaths (you can get there from a false wall in the same area where you take your armor off for the Frenzied Flame ending), and you'll eventually encounter her as a boss. Defeat her, then tell her you want to be held, and she will ask you to bring her the Cursemark of Death, which you obtain from doing Ranni's questline. Bring it to her, exhaust her dialogue, reload the area, then talk to her again and you can fight Lichdragon Fortissax.
