Rocking the Golden Halberd is fun and all but I got a few stat respec larvae and thinking of trying something new. Any fun (and good) weapons to recommend? I do tend to gravitate toward the big bois but anything would be fine really.

Among the earlier to get and that allow room for other things, it is hard to top either Blasphemous Blade or Darkmoon GS. The latter in particular even got better last patch. If Spears are your jam, the Wood Tree Spear is pretty decent. There are also a number of good Axes out there, but most are STR intensive so not a big departure from what you are doing. With the first two, you can mix in some Faith / Arcane casting fun and with DMGS you obviously can be a sorcerer too. The only real drawback of the DMGS is the moveset (outside the special blast) lacks variety. Moveset on the Blasphemous is somewhat muted, as well, but it gets the job done.

Haha they nerfed the piss out of the fly spell, both the spell itself and the dragon seal. Guess I can spec out of Arcane entirely now, since the Mogh spear is basically useless at this point. May as well max out my MLGS cheese.

You are probably specced STR/FTH for the halberd, if you continue with that build it's hard to beat Blasphemous Blade, but I don't know how far along you are in the game ; you normally get BB in the later half of the game. I really enjoyed using Great Stars until I got BB. You can also go completely opposite and spec into INT to get the MLGS from the Ranni questline, it's getting buffed so should be fun to use. Currently I'm using the Sacred Relic Sword, which is also STR/FTH based, but it is an end-game weapon so you aren't going to get it anytime soon. But the AOE weapon skill on that is l.o.l.

I'm enjoying the +10 BB. It takes a bit of the edge off of trash clears as you get lots of little health pumps, the base damage + fire is respectable, and the big flame blast is tons of fun. It's just slower than what I'm used to, so taking a big whiff is more punishing than it was before. When I'm not flailing around like a blind moron, it's very effective.

All the changes look great, esp the giants flame line ones. It was already pretty damn good for being an ambush invader.

Frenzy ticks down slower but harder to inflict with some notorious offenders. Ok.

Yea might respec into INT to try something else out. Using a STR Great Shield now though that I would need to change up if I'm not 2 handing the MLGS. Not sure how that build usally is.

As of now I'm basically END/STR to be able to use armor/halberd/great shield.

for MLGS you get 16 str 12 dex so you can 1 hand it, then you pump INT up to 80. You offhand a staff for casting or the jellyfish shield for the 20% damage buff.

Nice, they buffed my new weapon of choice just in time for me to use it in NG+.

Or you could have gotten the ancient somber from Mohg palace that can be gotten within the first hour of the game and without killing a single thing

How do you get to Mohg palace in the first hour?

It was one of the last places I found and I thought it was probably locked behind other things, like sewer Mohg, but apparently not.

I need to book it over there in NG+ so I can get the Moonlight Greatsword to +10.

That dude releases a new shocked and amazed video for every world record? I see those in my recommended all the time. His reactions are longer than the speed run, wtf else is there to say?

Wow this game has some crazy glitches. /end reaction

I feel like Asmongold is HEAVILY astroturfed, seems like everybody gets him in their recommendations.

Which is weird because Youtube doesn't generally ever astroturf right-leaning people and this dude has a MAGA hat in the background of a ton of his videos.

I've got 80 Int and 80 Dex and the MLGS wrecks. It also has Str scaling and I have 16 Str, is it worth it to start raising that up to add more attack power to MLGS, or should I focus on Vigor (which is 50 IIRC) in NG+?

Probably starting NG+ this evening so I'm trying to ensure that I have everything I need going in. Objective is to plow the fuck out of the game fairly quickly.

Brass shield is pretty much the best shield without going up to great shields. The most important stats with shields are physical reduction and guard boost.

For a medium shield? probably not. Other options are fingerprint shield (heavy) and Buckler (light), or something like jellyfish shield to buff damage.
