I watched the SkillUP review and at times I wished he would shut up just so I could more clearly the music, which I'm hoping was from the game, as it was superb and made me want to know what encounter / area is going to have it playing.

From Software tends to do zero about hackers on PC. If you care about playing online, consoles is the only way to go. It took a "take over you PC" hack to finally get them to do something about it in the other games. I'm a PC gamer first, but not with this game. I'm hoping there is DS2 build variety in this game so PVP is fun.

I'd go with the PS5 version. Growing up, my mom watched me play things pretty often, which was cool. Hard to find GFs as an adult that are as interested, most just sort of go do other stuff if I'm nolifing. Last thing my mom ever watched me play was Bloodborne in 2015 (she's still around) and that added to what a cool game it ended up being. My point in all of this is that making a hangout out of the first time playing ER is probably gonna add to the memory of it. I might bring the game and the PS5 over to my mom's place on Sunday and re-create that Bloodborne hangout if she's interested, for this reason, but IDK.

Looks like GameStop just shipped my CE and estimated for Friday. Dunno if I'm dumb, but I couldn't find a CE for the PC version, so got the XBox one for the husband. Went and pre-ordered my PC code from Best Buy to try for that Steelbook, but I might have been too late on that one.

Ash Lake is one of my all-time favorite zones from any game ever, partially because of the over-the-top soundtrack.
You claw your way through an obnoxious tree level, finding unintuitive pathways that you are unrewarded by and kinda assume will be some lame dead-end, only to have the whole world open up in a unique landscape that exposes an infinite subterranean dreamscape populated by one of the most majestic looking bosses in the series all while listening to an epic sound track. And just when you think you're at peak Dark Souls the damn thing leaps out of the water in an ostentatious aerial demonstration.

It's Thursday at 11:46am right now in New Zealand - less than 13 hours to go for Xbox and PC folks who want to trick the system
XBox folks are gonna have like an 18 hour advantage on everyone else. Good thing we aren't having a race to beat the game.
I've managed to ignore the hype for the past few months and enjoy what I have instead, but I gotta admit, as of today the hype is finally getting to me and I've been restless all day. *scratch scratch*

Its insane that people are saying its the hardest out of all the Souls games.
Im kind of worried considering Im pretty awful at Demons Souls lol. How much credit does George R. R. Martin get for this? He is already known as the author of one of the most successful TV show ips ever (the part based on his material) is he going to add the best video game writer as well? Or was he not involved to that extent?

From what I’ve read it sounded like he was barely involved and just had some chats about the lore. More work than he’s done on the asoiaf books in the past seven or eight years.
