Welp, back at Elden Beast again. Another great showing by me and my mimic - had EB down to 3% in NG+++ and.... died. Back to the grind on this fucker.

Legit question, I think one thing im confused about is when to run by "trash"? How often should you just skip by enemies and try to find the end of that area and find the boss/item and then just leave without trying to fight them compared to just fighting your way through each area?

When you really don't feel like fighting your way through things anymore....but generally the back half of the game I was running by a lot more stuff as the annoyance of fighting through them and the rune gain I got for doing so was no longer adding up and just boss killing was the most profitable. So I say watch how many runes your are getting per kill in an area and if it is not a decent amount for your level and for how long it takes to kill something then just avoid them.

I would clear as much as I could to get items/chests, then run by whatever, especially if all you have left is the boss.

Definitely, although Haligtree I fought through about 50% of each grace site and then beelined for the next site. I found a few ancient somber stones which is really what I wanted.

Just have to get past the rot section to find M and then Ill go back through and comb for the missed items / kill the mobs left that don't respawn.

Towards the last 20% of the game or so, your need to explore content dimishes significantly. By that time, you have maxxed out the weapons you favor and any additional levelling won't really help overcome content.....honestly what's the difference between being level 145 or level 150? It's going to be a matter of gitting gud. Early on you are exploring and trying to find new talismans, armor, stones, runes, etc.....towards the end your loadout is pretty much set and it's just a matter of getting to and beating the bosses.

Fight though the first time then run past if you fully explored the area and died in the next area or on a boss.

Also run past your first time in the first Haligtree dungeon because that shit is horrific.

The answer to this should be reached yourself, organically. The game supports all of them.

Now that I am done with Elden Ring and the new game feel has worn off I think Bloodborne is still my favorite from soft hame, whats crazy is ER is better in almost everything but BB just hits better. Mods will take Elden ring to obscene levels of replay value but BB aesthetics barely win out for me.
To add further confusion Elden Ring is top 3 game of all time and bloodborne likely would even hit top 10.
Can’t wait for BB2.

Yea I dont want to give up on playing, but I feel overwhelmed and not sure which direction I should go or what task I should be completing. I just randomly ride around and kill stuff until I inevitably get shitted on then rinse and repeat. I feel like im making little progress, although I have been consistently landing pretty good weapons each session, which is fun and fulfilling to try.

I also find the high level pvp and the different builds and playstyles to be fascinating. How fucking awesome would an Elden Ring MMO be? Where you had maybe 2k people to a server, and some servers could be pvp servers and some regular with pvp designated areas, and they added new content monthly etc. The game would sell bazillions of copies.

Well that’s basically how I played the entire game. Ride around, find shit, try it out. If I’m getting my ass kicked I mark the dungeon and come back later. Rinse and repeat for 130 hours.

Yeah I really like Bloodborne’s eldritch shit. I want the next open world from soft game to be bloodborne 2. A game the size and scope of elden ring in bloodborne’s world would be incredible.

Today i learned there is a sword that does pure holy damage and can't be blocked by shield or anything.

So i had to get it and make a build for it next NG+

Fuck me.

I've kept the horn bow upgraded as high as I can because I sit there and cheese trash mobs and even bosses every chance I get. Doesn't do a ton of damage, but with enough patience I can sit there and pluck away on annoying monsters.

I know this isn't going to be capable towards the end of the game, but as I'm slowly clearing my way through the different areas, and makes a world of a difference.

Work smarter not harder. I'm still having fun so I don't really give a shit.

Okay so I finally made it to Missus M, didnt have any time to practice, but this weekend its fucking on!!!

I don't plan tobparry exclusively but it would be nice to learn a few of the attacks and get them on lock, like I had to do with the CleanRot Knights in the areas before her.

Here's to 2+ days of dying! I may even progress beyond Fire Giant and come back depending how it goes, but I'll get her!!

Nah, but I was watching that guy for MTG arena maybe a year ago when I was still playing it. Not surprised that he's branched out to other video games. I think his channel is really starting to take off.

I I just saw some random video about using a bow to knock out enemies when clearing through an area. I think it was when I was trying to clear storm veil. Just started gunning stuff down any chance I got. The stupid deathbird monsters I've managed to kill with just bows and arrows in a bit of melee. Fuck the one in south Caelid who drops the death poker. Spent an hour one evening trying to beat that asshole, I have no problem using archery at range to whittle them down.

Your friends in Roundtable Hold will point you in the direction of all the great runes.
