I just moved into Empire space to start working solely on getting the rank and funds to get one of these. They look pretty badass and seem a fair bit sexier than the federal dropship.Edit: You simply can not beat the pure sex that is the Clipper. The instrument panel, the smooth lines, the cockpit... its like Tron and Apple had a designer love-child.
You don't want to jump into a sun like that either.I'm so glad to hear other people's stories. My self-esteem as a gamer was taking 1-2 punches these last few days.
Here's another gem:
When you press ESC to go the Game Menu, your game is not - I repeat -NOT paused.
GF was making diner and it was ready. I just finished my jumps but didn't want to keep her waiting so pressed ESC while supercruising to my final destination.
Came back after half an hour only to find myself at about 1,500,000Ls from where I left the game.
No harm done luckily, but you don't want do learn this tidbit of information in the middle of a life or death situation. This game finds the most trivial ways to kick you in the nuts.
Clippers and Pythons give me the most trouble. Anacondas are shockingly easy if they don't have an high level pilot.I've fought several clippers and they are tough monsters
Unless they changed things, people buying the game now will start in one of many systems scattered throughout Federation space.I moved to Empire space as well. Do we all start out in the same system? Or does it load everyone differently?
I had to jump 11 times to get to empire space, and had to refuel along the way. I had 100k of bounties to turn in also from using my K-Warrant scanner there also. Ive also hit Novice combat rank last night, and I've just been playing purely bounty hunter.
I lol at little at npc Eagles that interdict me out of supercruise in my Viper. Tonight I mat focus on Reputation since I don't think I have gotta ANY since I started playing this game.

Is that a railgun? lol.
I'll explain how I think it's supposed to work. If a normal scan (not a KWS) shows a vessel as Wanted, then the sub faction that controls the system (like Jet Dynamics) is hostile to them. Other sub-factions in the same system may or may not be hostile to them.I've been having problems with that too. I read around some and the theory is that it's either a bug or it's because the wanted person is on the same faction as the Feds. Though if that's true it doesn't apply to the npcs, because I've seen them them fire on each other with out Feds stepping in.
You can just save and exit wherever you are, even in space. There's no pause because it isn't a single player game, all the "Solo" button does is hide all the other players from sight (and you from them)....
No pause option in a single player game is just amazingly horrible design.
