Last night we woke the Sleeper on Test. Tons of guilds have awoken him over the years, so this was cool but not particularly noteworthy. Rather than just waking him up and getting steamrolled we decided to bring out all of our high level characters and see if we could give him a run for his money.

I'll let the videos tell the rest.

How do you folks level so fast? Is it just twinking or multi boxing? I level slow as hell compared to some of you folks.

@moon, you haven't asked for a PL yet brah.
I don't feel the need really. I mean, been just taking my time and enjoying the slower pace EQ offers in general. Last few days been working on the Ranger 1.0 and only have one step left there (Hate gem). When I feel like it I can just hit an HS spot and get a bunch of AAs in a couple of hours or even grab my merc and hit Bloodfields entrance area for the same (been also dual-boxing a shaman when I do that stuff). I think I've sort of taken the first post in this thread to heart. Get a goal, go for it. For me the goal has been to take it easy. So I am.

So since I really only have cleric and a warrior, two classes that are always done with mercs, should I reroll (see what I did there?) as something else since both of those tended to be boring?

A player tank is less replaceable than a cleric. You might go war/sham instead if you want to keep one. The sham can be offense or defense as you prefer, and both can whip out clerics or rogues depending on where you're hunting.

I don't know what kind of power your characters have, but I let a merc tank for my paladin for quite a while. Basically until he couldn't hold aggro off of me anymore. This way I could pull and slow without having to worry about snap aggro.

Tank mercs are really bad, so player tanks are always wanted, but the real problem with player tanks is you're balanced around AC augs in all your gear and that's a LOT of camping.

Well, I gave up on P99.. I probably wouldn't have, but the lag and the downtime was too frustrating when I have such a limited play schedule in the first place. So I went back to Test. Still a 95 Ranger, thinking about dabbling in an Enchanter as that's what I was playing on P99. What do you guys think of an enchanter/shaman duo? Being a Ranger I mostly solo'd my way to 95. Is enchanter/shaman a viable box for modern content or do I essentially need a mage or necro for the pet tankage?

Are you saying nix the ranger and roll both an ench and a shaman or pick one of them to bot with the ranger? It depends on what you want to do, but the ranger doesn't really need buddies.

This would be a new box separate from my Ranger. Though I would most likely use her for AAing purposes, not doing so would be a waste.

So ench/sham duo or is Mage or necro basically a must have for modern content, thinking UF/HoT/SoF. I guess my question revolves around my ignorance of the enchanter class and just how powerful it's charm abilities are, or if that is even a relevant skill these days.

Charm pets are much weaker than their glory days in PoP, but they're still pretty powerful. I think a mage with pet focus would have a stronger and more reliable pet if you're committed to having a pet. Last I checked even a mad geared necro couldn't tank very much with his pet. They just snare/dot everything to death. They're some of the fastest AAers in the game since they can root/dot many high level mobs at once, but they're less proficient against named which generally summon and have high damage output. Necros pretty much HAVE to get their epic IIRC.

I only played SoF a short time before getting distracted by other things, so I'm not sure what changes have come down since I quit. My take is if you want to kill modern named by your lonesome look at mages or some kind of tank/support set-up.
