This, this, and this. Warrior-Priest in WAR and the roughly equivalent Justicar/Shaman/Druid that I played in Rift is my favorite play-style. Lock in the heavy armor, let me heal off of the damage and get out of my way.Cleric better be working like the warrior priest in WAR, armor and hammer included. Keep the pansy healing archetype for the priest and friar subclasses.
I never played BL but I agree. Someone get Georgeson on the phone.Someone make a joke about taking an arrow to the knee.
And screw you guys. Beastlord with claws was one of my favorite classes. Competing for contact space? If we're gonna go all 'making sense' and shit, how hard is it to fathom getting attacked by a bear and then suddenly there's some crazy, unshowered, ogre clawing up your ass because apparently he's put his own hands into some bear paws and is using them as a weapon like a fucking maniac.
Maybe your pansy ass BL would have learned to use a civilized weapon like a spear, but fuck you, I want claws and fists to barsh stuff!
Flail and shield!?! Fuckgetaboutit
/roleplay way off
Have they said anything about that whole "you get half of your available skills from your weapons" thing lately? If that's still part of their "plans" for how combat skills work, I bet the flail and shield combo has the wannabe cleric (but only for your pet) skills on them.Flail and shield!?! Fuckgetaboutit
As druids and shamans were my mains , this still has me chuckling.Beastlords always were just dumbfucks who failed/dropped out of Shaman middle school.
GW1, GW2 and soonish Wildstar are probably as better comparison when it comes to combat with a limited skill selection (or again EQ1 casters, while you could switch in combat you didnt do that often). In LoL or DotA you are stuck with the skills your chosen character has, you cannot mix'n'match like EQN supposedly allows. Most important is that it is a step away from the MOAR hotbars style EQ2/Rift/WoW/TOR feature, and I'm glad about that.Boobietastles_sl said:So, combat will be exactly like DoTA2 or LoL? wtf is this shit.
I'm pretty sure we obtain more skills as we advance in the tiers, that's not what I meant, sorry. Who knows how many more we will gain access too though. I meant that the character abilities are the only thing that can be switched out, the weapons and armor are determined by the class that is being used and cannot be switched. This could change, but this is what we have to go on.Is that really the way it works? I thought you just couldn't "slot" more than like 8 or so abilities but each class had more than 4 specific to that class... I guess multi-classing makes up for that?
Which sadly , is currently the top mmo game out there.................... sustain ourselves on nostalgia and baseless speculation until then.

Have you met world of warcraft?I actually think a DotA/LoL style MMO would be badass. Have your character, log on "join queue" for raid or dungeon(with friends or pubs), play a few, log off. No world, no questing, just play fun stuff. It wouldn't be something you need to log in every day since keeping up with content would be hard, but it would still be a blast. Wasn't this was NVN was(never played it)? I just think it could be neat with the dota style view and ability targeting. Sorta action based, no overwhelming ability pool to pick from...
Uuuurgh it hurts me how much of a fanboy I am for this... That looked really coolI've been commanded to post this.
Sounds like a fun game. Some long for a fun world.I actually think a DotA/LoL style MMO would be badass.
