I imagine it's like Diablo, which was designed for mouse+keyboard but at the same time constrained so it can be adapted to a console. I can live without having 20 abilities that do everything and its opposite like in WotLK/BC.
I'm really looking forward to the less abilities thing. it was really getting out of hand. That EQ2 screen shot was a WTF moment for me

I have a feeling that all of these rallying calls, amazing ai, and general world layout will become predictable within a month or so of launch.
Even IF the combat behaviour becomes predictable with experience, I am ok with it since it is different from "every mob acts the same, beeline to attack range and then stand there. That's even kinda neat. If you track and kill your first bear alone in the woods it is going to be a different hunt then it is a couple of years later, because you know bears and how they act.

Diablo 1 had more variety in combat because monsters had simple but different behaviour patterns, different run speeds and so on. It is about time that comes to MMORPGs, and if SB fails that's the least it will deliver. If they pull off their promises the sky is the limit.

There are Iksar structures in concept art (and a rough in-game asset was shown in the Creating a World panel), so they definitely exist.
Exactly. Rosie referenced this as "The um.. the Iksar Area", something I think she was not yet suppose to disclose, during the "Building a World" panel. This is a voxel foundation that artists then painted over.

Sad part is, Old Sebilis will probably still be an actual city in the EQN timeline... So it won't be a dungeon

Hopefully he releases it today b/c it seems like there are a ton of people just not getting their vision for this thing.

Basically this was where they were talking about the challange of creating concept art for their early voxel engine. They were not sure how blocky blocky would be so they were told to make varients of the concept art from REALLY BLOCKY to pretty smooth.

And if they do a rune system like Diablo it can get very interesting. Where it's the same ability but the rune gives additional functionality. If you look at Diablo endgame there is no cookie cutter spec. There would be an entire metagame to make sure that in a raid everyone is specced well.

You mean adding a proc to an ability? I didn't play diablo but that's what it sounds like. Which would be cool.

Armor is definitely supposed to modify how abilities perform so Seems like there is a lot of possibility to make an individual spec.

Look at this ability and the runes you can unlock which add a different effect

EDIT: Also what this means that you can add more 'runes' in a new expansion without needing to add another spell which is where Warcraft has failed (glyphs were supposed to workexactlylike this)
