@ 26 minutes in that video link ponytail states players playing for months or even YEARS............ EQN coming to you this Q4 2018

Also do we have an IRC or vent/mumble etc that we are congregating to, or is it mostly just here?

Isn't this enough for you? I mean, there's 946 pages of people talking about EQN. How much can you really take?

WTF are you talking about? He goes through a demo, showing how quickly you can dramatically change the landscape of the world (3 hour example) and then says "now imagine what the world will look like after months or even years of thousand of players developing the landscape."

Talk about missing the point completely... are you retarded?

That's unfortunate. Sick of seeing everyone and their dog on a giant roboboar.
Are you shitting me? Dude give me that postive net I gave you back, you should be negged into oblivion for this post. Even the biggest EQN haters on this thread wouldn't complain about the existence of mounts in the game.

What doesthismean?
I assume when you kill something, its dead.

Kill a Kobold, that Kobold with its unique "memory" and gold its taken is gone, and a new fresh one will spawn. Kill Lord Nagafen, he's gone and we couldn't do nothing about it, that's it.

Plus everything moves around, so the same fight will never happen twice, in addition if a mob survives, It learns from the fight... at least I think it does. It seems Storybricks allows for persistant mob memory.

Guess you're wrong, ain't ya?

Edit: But what I really mean by that is that mounts should be hard to get and prestigious. And if you're going to have them, it shouldn't be immersion-breaking; you should have to park one at a stable or tie it to a tree or post in between uses. Better yet do it like Skyrim and allow them to wander off or be stolen if you just leave them standing around. I can't stand mounts that appear in a cloud of smoke.

Did you not play VG? The game also designed by Butler & Talisker? You got basic mounts at level 10, faster mounts every 10 levels thereafter. How are early mounts a suprise to anyone?

It's fucking boring to walk everywhere all the time and if you're not rolling a Bard, Wiz or Druid as you're initial base class you're stuck walking.

Oh c'mon. How is it any less boring to travel on a mount than to walk? It's the exact same mechanic but with a few poorly-animated polygons between your legs. And how is this going to work with the (silly) parkour system? Is my horse going to be a master acrobat now too?

It is faster. I know, that was hard to figure out.

Obviously not, that would be unrealistic and break the immersion in a game about cat people, giant dragons, endless ressurection capabilites and omnipotent wizards.

Yeah so since some things are unrealistic we can't have anything be realistic. Turn the sky purple and make sure everyone farts out little mermaids every few steps. Immersion is a silly goal anyways.

Some ideas on how Storybricks could make a real, functioning economy.

Settlement is built, game senses there is no Potion Merchant in the Settlement, so it spawns one.

Merchant spawns with limited resources, maybe a full shop.. 100 or so potions. As he sells them, depending on how fast they sell, and how much he has, the price increases. As his stock gets lower, he still has the gold he has made from selling potions. He has an available quest for materials to make more potions. Players will bring him materials and he will pay in cash, as long as he has cash to pay... and the more he gets of a certain ingredient, the less he will pay. He will use materials to make more potions, but will only have in stock what potions he was able to make from materials.

An obvious problem with this would be player hording of cash.. simple solution that you conservatives will love.. TAXES. City will charge every NPC and every player with a residence in the city 15% of cash in bank per month. They could redistribute taxes via quests the city government gives out to players.

6 months later, the city is dead, he decides to move to greener pastures, but is waylaid on the road by orcs, and dies.

The End.

New Landmark info.

Adventurer class in game, just like EQ class will be able to use in EQ next
So the Adventurer class explains how we'll be able to use Picks to dig down in EQN, given weapon limitations for standard classes. Presumably you'll need to be at least Tier 3 adventurer class to break into the tier 3 (lava level) content.

I want to know if this counts as one of the 40 classes (I assume it is... ) or is seperate like the crafting classes (Blacksmith/Tailor).
