EQ Never

I've always thought of reddit as one of the shittiest places on the internet, outside of a few niche subreddits. The more popular the reddit, the more it turns into the worst aspects of the internet (Console warriors, echo chambers, groupthink, constant meme spouting) with the same group of windowlickers either upvoting things or shouting any criticisms down.
Never been a big reddit guy before this whole EQN fiasco. When the diablo3 expansion was announced the other day I decided to check out the D3 subreddit. My mistake. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Has reddit always been this vomit worthy , pie in the sky shit or is it a new trend ?
Reddit is the shittiest shithole that was ever full of shit. Marketing douchebags love it because the community is so malleable and as-a-whole afraid of dissenting opinions. Think about how retarded the average person on the Internet is, that's the baseline for opinions on Reddit thanks to upvotes and downvotes. Have an opinion that is the result of free-thinking and learning from the past? "Fuck you, play nice with these greaseball devs and sales goons or we will all lose this unique opportunity to be directly force-fed outright marketing lies without realizing it." That's Reddit. It fucking sickens me that it's becoming a bastion for MMO-related discussion.

Second part of the interview is up

Sounds like they're implying that Rallying Calls will take the place of traditional expansions. They also say the reason for the slow info drip is to give people time to wrap their heads around the new gameplay concepts one at a time. The rest of its explaining their approach to the lore for EQN; nothing new there.

@ 1:46 "Everquest1, Everquest2 and this new game are all different worlds"

Interesting that he called it "this new game" and not Everquest Next.

Well I can't say that doesn't make sense. Take a look at all the bawling over the game's features across the internet from the past two weeks and multiply that by 100. That's probably what itwould havelooked like if they had dropped everything at once. This way they can do damage control and (probably) twist what they would've said if everything had gone over smoothly (as if that would've happened).

Nobody is asking for them to drop everything at once. They are asking to clear up and make sense of the shit they did drop lol.

I don't think they should mask the blocki-ness of the destruction with particle effects. I rather like it - gives character to the lego-world.

All they need to do is a giant FAQ with all the Q&A collated - the problem is they're dripping information out all over the place and not collectiong and coallating it. They're leaving that to fan sites which are doing a crappy job (sorry EQNexus).

Yep, pretty much this. I mean, christ, an intern could do this and it would be more reassuring than the 50+ fansites all collecting little bits of knowledge left and right.

Latency isnt like it was when some players were still on dial-up and others on DSL when playing FPS.

Tourneys have to be LAN network setup because its a local event, latency has nothing to do with why they are LAN!
Lol? Major tournaments for big money winners have to be completely even response time and on site to make sure no hacking is going on. With tourneys like CS .1 of a second is the difference between a win and a loss. Even in ESEA and cal servers with even latency have to be chosen so the competition is equal. Many competitions i've attended personally were in RENO or Vegas for west coast.
