The elves are what made me have a very love/hate relationship with factions. Killing some stupid fish in Lake Rathe and tanking your faction with the Elves was a rude awakening for my ass when I was just a kid and didnt understand/know any better. Yet, on the flip side - having way to much free time on my hands and switching to and from the Dragon and Giant factions in Velious was really cool - looking back. I probably wouldnt have the patience to do something like that now, but just the fact that I could do it made the game seem as if it wasnt so linear.I liked EQ1 elves. You get a wood elf in EQ and you get a good elf.
I liked my character in EQ2... was a dark elf. However, you could either make your character look really good in EQ2 or like Michael Jackson.
I usually play a Wood Elf anytime I have the option. I just vibe with the whole theme, I guess. But I just couldnt do the EQ 2 Wood Elf when I played it for that short stint. The entire "look" didnt match what I thought a wood elf should look like. The Hips on the Guys were one issue, and probably the major one. The other was the faces available. Overall, they just felt like feminine san frans with a good tan.EQ2 wood elves had girl hips.
This system is not designed for (massively) multiplayer and it's not part of any MMOSneak peek at Storybricks.
Painful..,That presenter is about as good at presenting as I am at performing slam dunks on full sized basketball goals in that I cannot do them.
Funny, I watched the whole thing, and found it entertaining. Dude did fine considering English is not his primary language. That presenter is about as good at presenting as I am at performing slam dunks on full sized basketball goals in that I cannot do them.
The system was designed for the industry. A majority of it's use (Which is more hopeful now that they have finally figured out story branching) will be outside the MMORPG genre. Deeper single player story lines and actually (In reality, not Bioware's fluff hype of unrealized game to game continuation) having strong lateral movements across an IP product lifecycle. With Brian Green no longer there, and the MMORPG market continually dwindling due to market conditions and poor products, I wouldn't be surprised if you see a new focus with folks like Ken Levine. Obviously EQ Next will have this, but I, for one, think it will be very unfortunate to have this in the hands of a management staff looking to fill content gaps as quickly as possible without using the tool to it's full story telling potential. That system was almost explicitly designed for MMO's and will pretty much be the defining unique element of EQN / Landmark.
