Hey Ut, Let's do an Avatar bet on it.

I'm 100% on you nerds right now.
They release information at this years Blizzcon about what project Titan is, and you change my avatar. They don't ,and I change yours.

Deal? ;}

EQn is free to play and not part of there Sony online sub service? Thought they were just doing that for Landmark.

That is not looking good then.

Every Sony game is Free 2 Play it's the same as EQ1,EQ2,PS2,Landmark,H1Z1...

They all have an option for a subscription but it's not required.

They are going to nickel and dime people to death.
I only have PS2's f2p to personally have opinion, but if its anything like that then I don't see any issues.

I've only heard all the bad things about EQ1s F2p and that they reeled back some of the restrictions, but a lot are still there. So hopefully not like that. Though I love EQ1s cash shop.

In Landmark they sell blueprints that other players create they also sell materials that you could farm in game, They also sell basic stuff like Bank slots and Inventory slots.

In PS2 they sell XP "potions" they also sell guns that you could buy with in game money. Guns in PS2 are all "side grades" for the most part and just shoot faster but are weaker or shoot slower but are more powerful. You can't spend $50 to buy a nuke and rape people.

Sony so far has had the best cash shop experience of any f2p game I've played.

Most items are $5-10 and most of them are player made cosmetics like helmets and camo.

In the very least I wish they would do digital Box sales on entry.
They might have a optional one. PS2 had alpha squad I think it was named. Where you got a bunch of benefits for what was basically buying the "Box". Think it came out at the very tail end of beta of ps2, so it let you beta for a little bit and then gave you some stuff for live. It was actually a pretty good deal, because they gave you a bunch of station credits that, iirc, matched the price of the package almost completely.

Yeah it was $40 for $40 station cash, a 6 month xp Implant, a Camo, 1 gun for each faction, a Title, Reserved name and beta access. it was a pretty awesome deal that really eased a lot of fears I had about playing a F2P game. I had no qualms spending money for guns that I liked because they where fun and I didn't feel that I NEEDED to buy guns to compete.

I have not bought anything in Landmark yet because I'm not too into it,I don't see the need to spend money to get a leg up on a creative game. But if Next had a $50-100 alpha pack that came with a mount and some cosmetics I would jump on it in a heartbeat.

When they start doing shit like selling "instance" or "pvp" tickets like SWTOR did, or selling straight up raid gear "every asian p2w" Then i'm outsville but they haven't fucked up there other 2 f2p games yet so I feel like we will be OK.

Sony is big on the process of "adding features for subscribers" instead of "restricting features for f2p players"

Yea, Ive seen the explanation of how Landmark is going to be set up. But EQ:Next makes me curious still. With 40 classes, are any going to be stuck behind a pay wall? Since Rallying Calls are basically content expansion, are you going to have to pay for that content? I think Lord of The Rings charges for stuff like that, for example. Not a big concern right now, but since it was brought up.

They have not said anything about monetization but you know they are thinking about it. If they do I bet its something where you can get the class in game or pay $20 and unlock it from the store.

I don't think rallying cries will be paywall'd since they require the server to commit to completing them.

Should be the other way around. THe more you pay the more naked your character gets. Plus the color.

I was playing with my daughter (4 year old). I told her we had to stop so I could go poop. She said "Don't forget your cape!" and held up her makeshift cape.

You could say it what happened next was a....heroic movement.

Basically the whole game of EQnext is gathering classes. There is no way they will monetize them.
