If they stick with this stupid level 50 cap then they need to remove all raid bosses in open world that are not intended for level 50s to kill. This will prevent those lame guilds zerging open world raid bosses with 300+ people and just bind rushing over and over. Then claiming its some type of accomplishment.

Now kill aow, vulak, emp in a dz with a 72 man raid at level 50 and I tip my cap to them because that would be a great accomplishment.

Best I can do is bind rushing all of Kael for 24 weeks.

I mentioned before that the AOW bind rush video was at level 40, and that it'll be significantly easier at level 50. Beating targets like Lord Yelinak normally (no bind-rushing) at 50 wasn't hard on Vaniki, either. We did have lowered spell resistance on mobs to help out, but even without it, I felt like it would have been okay.

Judging from Vaniki and accounting for the differences here, I still think people are going to be surprised at just how much is doable at 50.

Just don't be a rogue in the first few days, pure pity spot since any caster will out-dps you by an order of magnitude. Don't need you poking a mob in Unrest for 12 damage with a rusty dagger when a mage or wizard can drop a 100 point nuke at level 15. With breeze and ooc regen being in, it shifts the balance towards casters even further.

Once gear trickles down you're probably going to do better.

I seem to remember necros crushing the parse when focus effects were enabled

E bolt doesn’t have -resist modifier as far as I remember but ignite blood and bond of death do.

looks like there’s an extra poison dot down the level path from velious that i can only guess stacks with e bolt on stuff that is low poison res.

necro should be a good solo and raid class on this box

If they dont put in any of the vaniki resist effects, dps casters may find life kind of shitty at 50 trying to push group content. Raids may feel like posky during classic. For getting TO there, I expect enchanters and nec or dru to shit on everyone as usual. Nec will probably be an all around #1 with luclin giving a pretty solid route (you can go to acrylia when lguk slows, then ssra andor griegs).

If you you do AOW in a DZ when you die you will load into Kael not the DZ though making it much harder. Yelinak is very doable at 50 in a DZ though it will take a really long time.

I’d bind at the EW zoneline in Kael, take my 72 in (Monks, Clerics, Tanks primarily). I’d leave a buff squad at the zoneline to Kael in EW and a mage team in EW at the AoC. Whenever a person dies they zone into EW and while they wait 10 seconds for a CoTH to the AoC they get relevant buffs from the buff team (DS, Haste, HP).

Inside the DZ you’re fighting KT/AoW right at the zone in from the AoC port.

Alternatively you use mostly Mage DPS and your tanks are summon kiting AoW while the pets beat him down. Use clicky threat to maintain aggro. Any mage who gets too high just zones out and right back in.

If you end up doing it stream it, would be one of the better things to watch from eq on a stream.

Yep, I'm fairly sure Necro is going to dump on everybody at 50 dps-wise in most content.

With one big exception... what's the level req for finishing the Monk epic quest?

You can do the final turn in at level 46. I am pretty sure all epics can now be done at 46.

Will level 50 Necro dots land on level 70 mobs?

I feel like epic monks are the way to go. Stupid easy epic with built in clicky haste and attack buff. Can FD aggro. Requires no gear.

If Necro dots will land then dot+pets on a summon tanked or summon kited boss should do good work.

even with malo and that druid -fire res (ro’s sundering?) guessing you’d probably still have less than 5% or even worse to hit ignite blood which is already -100

i mean, you’d have to land malo in that scenario.

could be wrong. cool thing is if you manage to stick the dot, it will go full duration and be amplified by focus effects and will probably be the best dps possible for the time its up. im sure it will work on Some things

but on the other hand. i can’t think of any better server to exploit personas**. no aa’s, huge native exp, tons of mobs everywhere, and legacy bonus, so just have the monk army ready when needed

**big asterisks being better just make alts if you want to raid whatever is discovered as possible/efficient multiple times. in which case replace persona with alt

Without the Vaniki ruleset it's just plainly impossible to land anything on a 65+ raid boss at 50. Even with that ruleset it was possible on Vaniki to get a raid blown by a boss spawning with a weapon that said +MR on it. Tash just wasn't enough to get the job done and the Malo/Mala line are all resistable until you get the level 60 spells.

not to mention theres going to be random zones hitting “increased” experience… not always the exp buff, and likely not often in places that matter

but every once in a while the roulette *should* hit something decent and it will be stupid easy to level alts for a day

if you find out you only need monks and bards, should be easy to adjust from whatever people started as in their launch groups

If there was relaxed true-box at start than having everyone carry around some extra bodies would be a great help. While I am positive you can take down way more targets than might normally be thought possible it's going to take a huge commitment in numbers and unity of vision. Given that the prize for doing so is "we killed Trak at 50, git gud" and the first unlock is halfway through November putting together and keeping together that raid force is not really in the cards in 2025.

If Necro dots will land then dot+pets on a summon tanked or summon kited boss should do good work.

Depends on which ones they're using. Poison and Disease DoTs in particular are a rough sell resist-wise. The fire-element Necro DoTs are what will overperform on non-fire bosses. Of course with the level disparity, casters will be locked out from doing any resistable spell damage on the majority of the fights, and the game is going to turn into meleequest and petquest quickly.

What gives Necros an edge is really the Lifetap line. Necro and Mage pets are both going to be huge on this server, but with Necros you get super low-resist nukes. Taps will land on things that Mages can't land anything on. For a long time taps weren't even resistable that I know of, even with a level disparity, not sure if that's still the case.

If Monk epics are on the table (i.e. 46) then that changes the game for sure and puts them in the lead. Cleric epics being available at 50 is the other key ingredient.

Ideal raid comp is going to be SK summon-tanking with epic monks punching and clerics doing their thing. Luclin means SK is going to have all their insta-cast "aggro nukes" and should have zero issue holding aggro if they know what they're doing. Factor in that HT is unresistable (assuming it's also like that pre-GoD) for added benefit in a DPS race, if those exist.

While I maintain that this server will be more doable than people think, the game will be hard again like it was 20 years ago, either way, and that could be fun.

Open world racing could be interesting as bind rush or fd remove your damage contribution, and the big donger dps in a lot of places like ssra and kael would be charmed pets which would be total chaos to try to utilise.

Better off just farming 10+ cleric epics. There's no CoTH at 50 and no one is "kiting AOW" when he literally 1 shots everyone. The longest anyone is living is the refresh timer on Summon. Best chance is just chain rezzing. Not a skill fight. Either need tons of real people or someone running scripts to rez/autoaccept/re-engage etc.

You would bind rush Kael and funnel every single piece of gear on to a couple of tanks so you could then kite tank him in instances for more gear.
