Sorry if I sound like a broken record but I'd totally put money in a KS campaign for this. Recreate EQ in Landmark or at least start with two zones and a dungeon.
They weren't 100% clear about it, but it sounded like the new smoothing tool might be a completely separate tool, since it can actually remove voxels during the smoothing process. Like a sanding tool, maybe?

That was the perfect answer to the 'starting city' question for me. As time goes on, my confidence in EQN, and the team developing it, are growing exponentially.

Nice to see a roundtable that actually is shaping development, although they could've stood to expand a little more on what the new plan actually is. It sounds like the plan is a single tutorial for everyone, and then you get dumped in the city of your choice, but it could also be interpreted as those cities simply being out in the world, but not actually being starting locations.
Also, with the plot they've told us so far for EQN, am I the only one who actually kinda would prefer minimal starting locations at launch, with us creating new starting cities through the Rallying Calls? That whole sense of working to recolonize the continent could be really cool, if done right.

Practice. I've progressed from building shit huts to better stuff by just working at it and fucking around. See what works and what doesn't. Also don't be afraid to borrow ideas from other builds that you like. Look at how other people do things that you like and work at copying it.

True. I'm just amazed at how many talented people are out there doing this stuff. Tapping that resource for EQ:N is just fucking brilliant and bodes well for all of our enjoyment .
You're not going to make the leap from having never done graphic design to master in a day. Like all things that require skill, hours of practice will get you there 90% of the time. You just have to ask yourself if the end result is worth hours of practice to you, that's the only obstacle.

All of those retards complaining about being able to buy resources obviously didn't read the paragraph about how resources aren't going to matter as much once the game goes live. Items will take much less to craft and progression itself is going to be tied to achievements and exploration, not resources. You can't pay to win, but SOE has no problem with you paying to build as much as you want.

This. To scale you can really only do one room. I did the zone in, but to be honest it wasn't ask close as I would have liked due to the complex patterning on the floor of so I just templated it at the time, did not know about micro voxels at the time so it might be more viable now.

I'm a little unsure about the purchasing of resources but I'd want to see this new progression he mentioned before making up my mind. As someone who is currently collecting a million billion Burled Wood Logs for the build I'm working on I can definitely see a demand there though. The Phase 3 thing is another thing I want to see before I can tell if I'd like it.
