That was worth the watch. Really good prison scene. Only thing that always irritates me about gun fights. He had a gun fired twice right next to his ear. That would have damaged the hell out of his hearing in that ear. Oh well. Its like how the enemy constantly hits everything around the good guys when they are running away. At least in this movie the good guys get stabbed and shot. I give it a good 8/10.

They are clearly going to make a third movie...

So by this I take it that he dies at the end again (like in the first movie).
No but given the damage done too his 3 person team, they should all have been dead. Its a fun action movie like John Wick. I just suspend some belief and enjoy the ride.

Just finished it. Various parts are basically an Xbox game. Enjoyed it, but something about it wasn't as good overall as the first. And yeah the prison portion was really good, but God damned do escort missions suck.

I just finished the first one and I had to laugh about the kid recalling how sick it made him that he was having dinner with his dad and thought of how he had just killed someone's father that day. The dude rescuing him probably killed about a hundred fathers that day.

Gaspar was right; should have popped him when he was sleeping and taken the money. You have a conscience about a kid, as a mercenary, but are totally fine with killing a hundred army soldiers that probably have no idea about the situation and are just following the chain of command.

I get it's all fantasy and a suspension of disbelief but like someone else said it's just tiresome after a while. I think there could have been a more interesting movie here but unfortunately not this time.

I just watched the second one and actually thought it was a bit better. The action was a little more varied and engaging, even if that resulted in upping the ridiculousness. I have mild acrophobia so the fight scene on the glass ledge was definitely making me feel a little uneasy. I really appreciate how many long takes there are. It must be a hell of a thing to choreograph.

Similar gripe to the first one and other films like the Fast series and the later John wicks is that there's little to no tension in the film. It's just endless combat against faceless enemies. Something like the Bourne series or mission impossible films don't produce the same kind of high velocity action but usually have some narrative or situational tension at play that makes it more engaging.

About the same as me and what Sanrith mentioned above. The whole thing felt like one long XBox cutscene. And while cool, at some point is a little long in the tooth. Maybe? At least Wick had various story elements and world building, so forth.

As has already been said though the Prison Scene and up through the end was pretty amazing.

Here's a somewhat retarded nitpick but I'll go ahead and throw it out there. I have to watch enough TV with subtitles just so my wife can figure out what is going on, I don't need my action movies to be 60% subtitles also. Do one of the "intro the lines in language" and cut to English things. Also by the end I'm trying to figure out just how many damn henchmen this bad guy had. Every scene he's losing 50 guys and 3 helicopters but then has 50 - 100 more to throw against 3 people, a woman, and a kid.

Especially in the tower scenes. Baddie brings like 6 or 8 guys and I swear they kill dozens of the fuckers.

Points are all valid, but come on guys this is a top tier action flick through and through. Who cares about those little mundane details like how many bad guys there was, lol.

i watched this the other week and loved it. but i read an article talking about the prison scene and how it lasting 20+ minutes means that by the end you are as exhausted as the characters. i don't know if that was the intent, and i wouldn't be surprised... long action scenes are a double edged sword because you appreciate well choreographed action, especially the longer it goes, but you also start to enjoy it less and less the longer it goes.

also, i wanted a sequel, but this creates the problem where i'm less and less worried about tyler rake dying as the series goes on, since he basically did die in the first one. but i also think they recognized this issue and transferred that worry to his team. when nik got into that fight on the train in the beginning i was like... they're not going to kill hemsworth off in the first action scene of the movie, but nik? and her brother? there's absolutely no guarantee for them
