Looks like I may be reinstalling soonish. Devkit is in beta and people are leaking their test-mods. Yay modding community delivering us from mediocrity!

God I hope one of these nut job modders who have more time than sense completely redo all the quests and give us more of a new vegas experience.

Not sure if that's even possible, but god damn new vegas was one of the best games ever.

I've been playing around in Skyrim again lately. Given enough time, I fully expect more than enough quality mods to make up for the failing of vanilla. Redoing the quests would be possible, but it's unlikely. Most of the quality modders only do original content as part of their Hire-me portfolios. Then you have to look at not having access to the same voice actors/budget - so besides gameplay tweaking you're restricted within the same story elements.

LoversLab has been desperately awaiting the dev kit to transfer over their modding resources. So yeah. . . More rape pregnancy mods inbound.

Only question is when they convert the chaurus mod, are insect larvae going to eat their way out xenomorph style?

There is already lightsaber mods available, all they need is force powers

I bet the hardest thing would be to get the animations down. The combat in jedi knight felt perfect. Replicating that agility in FO4 would be amazing, especially with all the tools jedi had to defeat ranged opponents. Force pushing a mininuke at an enemy? next level gameplay.

I think LoversLab showed that animation isn't too difficult. I think the hardest part would be transplanting shouts from skyrim to enable force powers. It's one thing to export models, animations, and textures, but to take an entire game mechanic- what's the process to that without using a gun-based copout a la that old wizard wars Half-Life mod.

The Creation kit just went into open beta but they've locked it behind their Bethesda.net Launcher. All these individual launchers from every major gaming company are starting to get annoying.

Question for wiser minds; Does the new survival mode mean that The Institue is going to be the "go-to" faction? I mean you can teleport there, no?

In theory, yes. You teleport into the Institute, but unless they nerfed the teleport out for Survival mode, you can technically teleport to anywhere on the map once you leave the Institute. So it is essentially the only fast travel in that mode (unless you count Vertibird flying).

Lets not forget the free medical service!

Also clean water and radiation free food.

It took survival mode to make it clear the Institute is the best faction ;p

It was always the best faction.

Live in mud and shit, slogging you way through mutants/raiders to get spare parts to build a semi-safe place to live in.

VS.

Underground bunker, no way in besides a teleport that will take the surface-dwellers about 2000 years to re-invent on their own. Clean air/water/food and power, advanced science, purpose, sex-bots for those boring nights, high-tech weapons, terminators.

Was there ever a contest?
